Have You Ever Considered Quitting an Affiliate Internet Program?

If you have ever joined an affiliate program and not really been happy with it in spite of marketing it diligently and for a fair period of time, but are reluctant to give up on it for the simple reason that you have been told by successful internet marketers that "A quitter never succeeds".

In an industry where only 5% of people actually make any money and the majority gives up before they have even given the business a chance to be a success it appears as if persistence is something to be highly prized.

It is true that persistence is extremely important when doing internet affiliate marketing as it takes time and consistent effort to build a successful internet business; it is not something that just happens overnight. Setting up a website and spending a bit of time on traffic exchanges or buying leads from a co-op and hoping for the best will not achieve very much at all.

A point to take into consideration though is just as it could be a mistake to give up too soon on an affiliate program, it is also not a good idea to stick with a program that is not working for you or is flawed in some way, just because you don't want to look like a quitter.

Remember that when you become an affiliate internet marketer your goal is not to market one particular program what you are actually trying to achieve is building a successful internet based business that will bring you the income that you desire and the satisfaction of being a successful entrepreneur. The affiliate programs that you select to market are merely a means to this end.

Even though you have chosen a program carefully and done your necessary due diligence on it and have researched the best ways of advertising and marketing it, sometimes it may not work. It is possible that the affiliate company has made changes to the program or that their support or commission systems don't work well for you.

If this happens and in spite of every effort that you have made the program just is not working for you, then maybe it is time to quit it and find one with which you can possibly be more successful. There is absolutely no point in carrying on with a program in which you are not succeeding and this applies particularly if you have not reached your goal.

In any case as your affiliate marketing skills improve you will want to add more affiliate products to your business, as it is essential to have multiple streams of income if you wish to make money that will sustain your home business and give you the kind of income that will support you and your family in comfort.

Hopefully you have put your efforts into creating an email list of subscribers. This is where your repeat business and profits will come from as these are people with whom you have been building a relationship and they feel they know and can trust your judgment on things that you recommend to them.

As your range of affiliate products grows you will discover that some make more money for you than others. Once again you need to asses the situation and drop those programs that do not serve you well. This is not a question of quitting but more a case of pursuing your desired goal.

So although it is true that a winner never quits, the important point to keep in mind here is that this refers to your end goal and not the means you use to get there. If an affiliate marketing program does not work for you move on to something that will and never mistake the journey for the destination.
