This article is a true case study of one of our clients who actually saved $1500 in web design costs!
One day I received a phone call from a person (let's call him Mr X) who wanted to get a website designed for himself. He had received several quotations ranging from $1500 up to over $5000, but he didn't have that budget right now. I told him that we do not currently offer any web design services, but he was adamant and wanted us to do it! Actually, he was referred by one of our clients who spoke very highly of us. To say that Mr X was very impressed by our clients' praises would be an understatement - he was elated! After several minutes of explanation I could not succeed in deterring him and I didn't want to insult him by hanging up, so I asked him to explain his requirements. I was thinking in the back of my mind that I'll simply tell him later that we weren't qualified enough to do the job!
However, after 10 minutes into the discussion, I realized that he didn't need any web designer at all! Everything he wanted for his website could be easily accomplished by using the InstaSite Website Builder, which is very easy to use. He had some basic computer skills (like using Microsoft Word) and he also knew how to browse on the internet and check emails. This was about all that was required to know, to build a website using the InstaSite Website Builder.
What's more, all the bells and whistles that he was looking for was already supported by the system! It had over 60 decorative fonts, hundreds of beautiful templates to choose from, a WYSIWYG HTML editor, drag and drop layout control (latest unique feature), fully automatic navigation control with multiple menu controls, powerful image handling capabilities, a simple shopping cart, a "widget" architecture that allows scripts to be placed anywhere on the page, photo album and slide show, contact form, ability to add google gadgets, inbuilt keyword density analyzer for page optimization, and much more!
When I explained all this to him and told him that he could easily manage the design and maintenance of his website himself, he was ecstatic and asked me how much it would cost. I told him that it was only $2.5/month for unlimited pages (as of writing this article). He couldn't believe it and asked me to send him the order link right away. I sent him the link http://www.awareindia.net/BuildYourOwnWebsite/cms/regularpackages.html where all the relevant information was available, including the free trial link. I did tell him to try it out first before ordering. I even told him that we have a 30 day no questions asked money back guarantee, in case he found it difficult to use.
15 minutes later, I received the order confirmation email. 2 days later, I received a call from him expressing his gratitude and how much he was impressed with the system, the price and the support that we extended to him. Not only did we save him at least $1500 in upfront costs, but a lot more in regular maintenance charges. 10 days later, he ordered another plan. He continues to order all his websites from us. He even referred some of his friends and associates to us. Nowadays he doesn't have enough time to update his website, so his 8 year old school kid is doing it for him; it's so easy to use. Amazing, isn't it?
I hope you found this article useful. It is not only about saving some money in web designing, but it is also about convenience. Why should you depend upon your web designer every time you need to make changes to your website or add some more content, when you can do it yourself?
Thank you for reading, I wish you all success in your online business!
