How to Get the Word Out About Your Internet Business

Every Internet Marketer knows that unless you have people visiting your internet business, (traffic), the fact that you have an amazing, in-demand product/business or service and a tried and tested sales-letter with a stratospherically high conversion rate, it will mean nothing because with no one looking at you, you have no one to sell to and therefore will sell precisely nothing!

The good news is that even as a total “newbie” to internet marketing, without a large mailing list to market to and with your website languishing on the 200th page of Google, there are well tested and proven methods of internet marketing that can dramatically increase the level of traffic to your internet business.

Before we go any further however, it is important that you understand that SEO (search engine optimization) is not the be-all-and-end-all in terms getting huge amounts of traffic to your internet business! Search engine result pages are themselves only web pages, just like other websites on the internet. Many people, you and I included, use the various search engines to search for information which brings them to that search engines results pages. If the link to your internet business is at the top of the results page, more people will see it and you will receive more traffic! Fantastic.

However, you could get exactly the same result if you could get your internet business mentioned on a website which itself has very high traffic in its own right. For instance, if you could get your internet business listed on Yahoo!, you would probably receive so much traffic you would exceed your bandwidth limit which would be a problem, but a good problem to have! Your strategy therefore, is to get other high-traffic websites in your marketplace to link to your website. You do this by providing value and great content. You provide reasons for them to link to you. This could take the form of great articles you have written and posted on your site, or answers to problems that people have. It could be anything, as long as it is of value. Be creative, do some research and testing.

Something else you might want to consider, is simply linking to a related internet business that already enjoys high volumes of traffic,  and ask for them to link back to you. This is a very simple but effective strategy for increasing traffic to your internet business. Be sure before you do this though, that you take a critical look at your own internet business and satisfy yourself that you would be confident to promote such a site to your readers and that it will provide value and use to them and is not merely there as a vehicle to direct traffic to your internet business! Make sure you are providing some value and giving something back. Your compensation will increase in direct proportion to the value of your contribution.
