How to Sell On eBay Without a Website

eBay has risen to be one of the most popular sites in selling things online with over 200 million active members around the world. Many people of all legal ages go there to buy the things that they can't find in their local areas while others try to make extra income by selling things that may appeal to others. This practice continued to grow popular as the site aged and now work at home moms are starting to get curious and are considering dropping their old garage sale tactics and bringing their inventory online.

Selling is surprisingly easy to do in eBay, but it is actually more difficult for first timers to make any real sales even if the items that they are selling are unique. Making sales is not about luck or waiting for the right buyer, but making you as the seller more visible to buyers. Of course, a website would be the best way to generate more traffic back to your store because you can advertise it and drive people to your link so they can see what you are selling.

But if you are a work at home mom who doesn't have much knowledge of making a website or you simply don't have the time and money to make a good professional looking website, you can still make yourself and the items you are selling known to others by going to these places.

Classified Ad Sites

Before eBay existed, classified ad sites were the main places to sell stuff online. However, classified ad sites are still being used simply because a lot of other people search on regular search engines for things they need and often end up in classified ad directories. Combining the power of eBay, you don't have to do as much as you normally would without eBay. All you need to do is post a short description of what you are selling and then leave a link to the eBay item so they can see additional details. You can repeat this step with other items you are selling and post them in the categories that they belong to for increased chances of making sales.

Social Networking Sites

By now, you should be involved in at least one social networking site to keep in touch with your old friends and relatives. If you haven't registered in any yet, give sites like Facebook and MySpace a try because most likely you will find plenty of your friends and relatives that might be interested in what you are selling. Some social networking sites have a classified ads section too where you can paste eBay links.

Forums

Some forums can have large communities which can serve as a huge market for whatever you are selling. When joining a forum, make sure you read the forum rules and see if they allow any form of advertising. If it's allowed, you can post links in the "Buy and Sell" sections if any or post a link to your eBay store or any items that you are selling and then start posting interesting topics and replies in the forum so you won't look like a spammer.

These three areas are great places to start and all of them do not require any website creation. As long as your items are well described and organized, you should have a few interested buyers after a month of commitment.
