Long Tail Keywords Web Strategy - Get Your Website Ranked

When it comes to life and specifically web site traffic related to search engine traffic most people are inherently lazy and want "the easy way out". Make it easy and something for little effort or even for no effort at all. Such is life and the beauty of SEO that is "Search Engine Optimization". It's relatively easy to get results - organic search terms results. As well it's a double edged sword. Once in you have the inherent lack of inertia of the laziness of others?

However there is a case in point that of keywords and keyword choice. Everyone wants the big one - the big fish. The huge volume keywords. Well guess what - so does "everyone else". That is where the inherent big traffic and money is. While it is true that you should focus your efforts on productive results - that is results that bring in 1 millions searches a day versus those that bring in only 100 a day at most. Good for you. At least you are trying to focus your efforts on being productive and efficient.

However on the other side of the equation are all those other people, web designers and internet marketers as well as some polished SEO "experts". If those giant keywords are so easy to spot for you - no doubt it will be for the others after the same fish and bait. On top of that those are "high money terms". No doubt Goggle with all its adwords resources will have spotted that as well. Goggle may well place a damper on your actions - especially with newer sites. You may well be in the Goggle time filter or "Goggle Sandbox" limiting your actions and effects. Even if you are an established site Goggle may dampen your results, since this is such a lucrative keyword term in your market, and make it not possible for you to rank well for 6 to 9 months or even a year time period.

What to do? Don't give up hope. Utilize the concept of and power of "long tail keywords", in SEO. While you may "die waiting" for those major keyword choices in search engine results (SERPS) to kick in - there are lots of smaller niches , with longer more specific keyword strings - that you can rank in relatively easy . You will and can obtain results in these less competitive keywords terms. As a result you will have more immediate and less volatile website traffic directed towards you site. It's quicker as there are little or no waiting around. You might well think it's a waste of time since the volume is so smaller - or smaller. Why bother? First of all you can rank in these terms where other people have left aside for you. Your site can have an impact and work towards notice by Goggle and page ranking as a mark. Something of something is better than nothing so to speak. Results of all of these long tail keywords in search engine results are accumulative , if not synergistic in working towards your final goal of ranking in those major - that is primary - keyword areas. In your case the sum of your smaller long tail keyword search engine results may well be greater than the individual counts. You will be propelled towards your more lucrative search terms - which of course you are still working on. Goggle likes consistency no doubt.

What is an example of a primary and secondary long tail keyword search terms? For example you may be working on a dog training website to build traffic and volume to your website. The primary dominant search term may be "dog training". However there is a lot of competition for results for this primary search term.

By working and promoting , by standard SEO means secondary "long tail keywords" such as " Yorkshire Terrier Dog Training" or even a longer term such as " Puppy Dog Training Chicago" you may well be able to rank and get those results in the SERPs of the three major players in the search engine business of Goggle , MSN and Yahoo. . Not only will you count and have results - whereas on the primary search terms you will not (well at least not immediately or in the near future), but the results will drive you towards your eventual goals of ranking for the major primary lucrative search term of "dog training".

Finally on top of that the traffic from long tail keywords in search engine SERP results can well add up to a good volume all by itself . On top of that and in addition very few people or internet marketers will be working those specific terms - in essence you will own those search terms. On top of that since the volumes individually of these search engine terms results are smaller so that they are less likely to be noticed by others including your competitors, using standard SEO keyword analysis evaluation tools tactics and procedures. Once in you will be very hard to dislodge by others working the terms and industry.

Lastly and interestingly it can be said and noted that not only can the long tail keywords of SEO lingo not only produce website traffic on their own, drive you towards your initial goals of ranking well in the primary keyword terms in your chosen field or fields, but also there is the noted benefit that the website traffic that you obtain, though your hard and consistent work, in this manner is much more likely to have higher conversion rates than the more obvious primary keywords. Long tail niche keywords and their niches can well serve to be as your best and most profitable keywords. These people have done their homework and a very high percentage is "ready to buy". Your product or service rather than just a "tire kicker". By the time those internet browsers have specifically used your "long term keyword" in their search engine results it is much more likely that they have already done their homework and in a much much greater chance of being in a real buying mode than those who are only searching primary keyword search terms.
