Magibon - the New Mona?

Many people in the You Tube fraternity are driving themselves crazy with puzzled frustration about a new internet phenomenon. Magibon - the young woman who makes a short video of herself doing nothing, and saying nothing - and gets a million views in a week? What is occurring here? Just what is the secret of the Magibon phenomenon?

I decided to investigate, and this article is the first installment in my investigative report. I believe I have cracked the 'Magibon Code' as you will see. I believe there are many facets to it, and the quest to find the answer will take us into many areas of human nature, and also the nature of the internet.

You only have to look at the many comments of baffled viewers to realize that the phenomenon is an extremely complex one. Does magi herself know all the answers? That's an interesting question, that I intend to ask (and answer) in a later article. But for now I want to look at the reason why her videos are so compelling. First it's necessary to deal with the question of sex. And for reasons that I'll look at in more detail later, I believe that her popularity has very little to do with sex per se.

The comments below her vids continue to multiply, and the commentators get more and more frantic in their efforts to understand it, and more and more angry, and even downright insulting, and even descending to the most revolting crudeness (for which they may well feel ashamed when they really think about what they're saying), while magi floats serenely above it all. The frustration of these commentators seems to arise from their insistence that, to be important, a video has to be ABOUT something. And while I disagree with the mode of delivery of their opinions in many instances, there can be no doubt that it's a valid point. Shouldn't every video be on some theme - at least, if it is to have a million views in a week?

As I hope to show in a later post, this opinion goes against the true nature of what art is all about, but first... how does she grab the attention of so many?

Her appeal is very similar to that of La Mona Lisa, the famous painting by Da Vinci. Mona has kept everyone guessing for hundreds of years as to just what it is that she's got to smile about in that mysterious way she has? Magibon is enigmatic in the same kind of way. It is that enigma that is playing a large part in attracting those many thousands of viewers. This is what I intend to address in later posts.

Who created the Mona Lisa? Leonardo da Vinci, an undoubted genius. And who created Magibon? She created herself! So the next question we have to ask is this:
