Are you advertising anything on the Internet? You are probably looking for more ways to do it.
Most business would like more customers to be exposed to their business offers.
A traffic bar installed on your inter-net browser will get this accomplished for you.
This is the way a traffic tool bar works:
1. You install the traffic tool bar on your inter-net browser
2. You browse the Internet like you normally do.
3. During the browsing process the tool bar displays text links that change from
page to page.
4. If you like the headline of the text link, you click on it.
5. You get advertising credits for every page that you view. You also get credits
from the page view from others that you refer.
6. If others upgrade you get a commission because you referred them.
There are several advantages to having a tool bar installed on your web browser.
1. It is passive advertising. Yes you are being advertised to, however everyone else
that has the tool bar installed is also potentially seeing your message.
2. You get that advertising for doing nothing. You are browsing the net
anyways, so why not get some advertising credits and potentially make a sale
as a result?
3. Most of the tool bar programs have free marketing courses and other
e-books associated with them just for joining.
4. Targeted traffic. If you use an eye-catching headline, people who visit your page
are going to be very interested to hear your offer.
5. If you get bunches of people to sign up under you, you can make many sales from the passive
advertising credits that you get.
6. Some tool bars allow you to email those people that you have recruited. This ability
is a marketing gold mine.
7. The tool bar often allows you to use eye-catching colors if you upgrade.
There are some disadvantages to having a traffic tool bar as well.
1. There isn’t as much browsing space on your browser because the tool bar takes up space.
You are more likely to have to click down further on a page.
2. The click-thru rate on the text links is often miniscule. A click-thru rate of .13% is often
considered good by most internet marketers, for traffic tool bars. (Yes I did say .13%)
3. You need lots of people to sign up under you. When you have lots of people under you,
only then do you get the exposure you need for the advertising to be effective.
4. Email in general is getting harder and harder to get through the spam filters
5. People are getting more sophisticated in spotting advertisements and therefore
hardened to advertising in general.
In this authors opinion, the advantages of having a traffic tool bar or two installed on your
browser outweigh the disadvantages. As with all advertising methods, there is no
one size fits all solution. Of course you must be the one to decide if you want
to use this method.
The benefits of having a traffic tool bar are; passive advertising, little to no
effort in installing them, potential sales, and targeted traffic.
Best wishes in your business. Remember that success is often a result of concentrated
and focused effort.

Developing Success Metrics for website benchmarking
By: Isdaron | 10-09-2006
Dear fellow Yedda-Users, I'm currently working on my master thesis, where I would like to benchmark different websites for success. I'm aware that there are traffic services like Hitwise and Alexa, but I would like to broaden this view by additional metrics. For example, I would like to list how many "Diggs" a site has had or how many people have bookmarked it via Del.icio.us or similar services. Is there a way to find out:1) How many Diggs a website (not a specific page on that site) has received? 2) How many Websites link to a website (not a specific page on that site, but the site in whole)3) How many bookmarks have been made on Del.icio.us (for the site in whole, not a specific page on the site)I would also be very interested in your point of view on if there are additional metrics to compare the success of websites. Thank you very much, Bjoern

The Dreaded Google Penalty
By: Jennifer Horowitz | 26/07/2008
Many people insist there is no penalty (except Exclusion for really blatant "Black Hat" techniques), and rather it is all about Filters. If you do something that triggers a filter your site won't rank as highly. Whether you call it a filter or a penalty, the results are the same. If you don't follow best practices, sooner or later your site will be penalized or filtered out of the top rankings.
