Take a Combined Approach To Boost Web Site Traffic

When it comes to marketing online, most business owners make one of two mammoth mistakes. Either they don't diversify enough, or they become involved too many different activities they fail to engage in long term. If you make one of these two mistakes, you're at risk for failure. In either case, you'll never be able to reliably generate the guaranteed website traffic you need to succeed online.

Why is it important to "mix up" or diversify the online marketing strategies you rely on? Think of relying on only one or two marketing techniques as piling all your eggs in one basket. It's a risky way to approach trying to increase web site generate sales, to say the least. What if the only marketing strategy you're using some day ceases to bring targeted web site traffic? It's very likely the drop in traffic could kill your online business as it kills your web site's traffic.

Another problem with not diversifying is you miss out on many opportunities to market to more of your targeted market.

Say you choose to focus on article marketing and don't bother with much else. Are you absolutely certain everyone you're targeting reads articles online? Does that actually make any sense?

What about the people in your targeted market that would rather receive newsletters or special offers by email? What about your targeted market members who are spending hours at a time on social networking sites?

The more you limit the types of marketing activities you engage in, the less likely you are to reach as as much of your target market as possible.

Not diversifying your online marketing is bad, but not following through with any activities at all is actually worse.

There's one thing you can count on with virtually all Internet marketing activites: They take time to to work. Imagine you join a safe list group, try it out for two or three weeks and end up with very small response. You decide it "doesn't work" and jump into article marketing instead. After submitting 3 articles a week for three weeks and receive no response, you decide that didn't work, either. What's really not working?

Regardless of what online marketing strategy you choose to try out, commit to giving it three or four months of consistent effort before you decide it works or it doesn't. This is the bare minimum amount of time it will take to see meaningful results, and that includes an increase in traffic to your site and more sales.

Diversifying Internet marketing activites is very important, but there's another important way to mix up your marketing for better results. It pays to opt to use both free and paid marketing activities. The best way to decide on marketing activities you should pay to invest in is to use free or trial offers for a while and track response rates.

If you join a safe list group and have a consistently good response, consider signing up for the paid membership. If free safe list marketing is good, going for a paid membership is likely to bring you even better results, including an increase in website traffic and more sales.
