As technology advances,crime increases and fraudsters are advancing with the use of underground tools to getting the information needed from their intended victim unknowingly as detailed information is just what they need and their job is done “it takes just a pinch of salt to destroy a basket of tomatoes”

Supposing you saw a good item online shopping store and wanted to buy it.When you proceeded to pay for it,your credit card was denied and you found that it has being used several times already unknown to you; and the credit limit maxed out. We live in high-tech world meaning that;everybody knows technology well.The internet is not exempted from crime since a lot of money related transactions take place online, people with poisoned mind abuse the trend with their poisoned actions by doing their criminal activities online.
Stealing personal information like Credit card numbers, Bank accounts,e-mail address log-in details among others.And e-mail address is the major means through which this personal information is stolen.
Suppose,you receive an email message where the sender claims it to come from a bank, a fund transfer service or any seemingly trust worthy organization;and the message requesting you to give them your personal information like log in user name or password perhaps to complete a transaction which you might not start. Such is an attempt of stealing personal confidential data and should not be responded to.
Phishing or the use of engineering applications through emailing or instant messaging is one of the most prevalent “but quite unknown” means of stealing personal information by these criminals. You might receive an email containing images which might be coded to master your password and or real user name with some other confidential information stored in your mail box.Or messages requesting you to click a link and sign up to win something could be risky.
Computer software that claim to be free and are not from well known company may contain key-loggers or spyware for tracking your daily activities online. This is almost incredible but it’s real.
There are many ways through which they steal personal information but above are little almost unknown ways of stealing this information.
However,these means of stealing personal information mentioned can still be shun in the following ways:
1-Computer security software:Reliable security software should be installed on computer.
2-Unsolicited email messages should be shun and deleted instantly.
3-Brain:Always use your brain by knowing that: something that is too good to be true is always not true.
4-The use of virtual credit card by epayarea (a company that offers virtual prepaid visa card for free and an online checking account),epassporte or any other issuer of virtual credit/debit card can curb the lost of credit card information to an extent.
5-Purchase of computer software or any other computer components from a well known company or seller to shun the risk of your computer activities being exposed to these fraudsters.
