1. Indentify whether or not they have a genuine interest. Are they actually looking for an opportunity to get involved with, or are they just one of those people who are curious and like requesting information for no reason?
2. Do they have a desire? How deep is their desire? Have they ever looked for an opportunity before now? If so, did they get involved or what kept them from getting involved? What got them looking to begin with? Identify what it would it take to remedy, overcome or fix that reason. For example, say the person wants to quit their second job. Find out what it would take for them to be able to do that. It may be to make an extra $1,500 per month. Identify whether or not you can help them reach that goal.
3. How much time do that have per week to build their business. This is going to let them know that they are going to have to set aside some time to devote to their business. They have to sacrifice some time in order to reach their goal.
4. Their monthly budget. So now they know that as well as sacrificing some time they are going to have to sacrifice some of their income. You must let them know that any legit business requires startup and ongoing operational costs. Don’t ask if they have a certain amount of money to spend, or if they have a monthly budget. Let them tell you what they can budget for their business.
If they say they don’t have any money, you can even go as far as asking them if there is anything that they are spending money on now that they can do without in order to get their business going so that they can acheive whatever goal it is that they have.
So with that, if they don’t qualify then you identify whether it is temporary or permanent and where to go from that point on. Do you put them in your long term folder or do you move on to your next prospect?
