Twip #1: Be a pro.
You will be marketing your business. So be professional in doing so. Chat is fine on your personal account but not in your business Twitter. For sure, your followers will not be interested if you talk about your website color change.
Instead, twit about valuable information about your business. Informative but interesting enough so your followers will want to read about it. Tell people about what you have. Keep them in the loop. Trends are important. Updates are perfect.
Twip #2: Offer quality.
Real value. That is what customers are looking for. And this is what will make them come back for more. Do not tell them about it, give it to them.
Enough about the sales talk already. People have had enough of those to last a lifetime. Change direction by giving them real quality product or service. Make use of resources online, like articles or ebooks, to show them people you mean business.
Twip #3: Go ask.
Customers want this and that. Do you know what they want? If you have no idea what they are, go ask them. There is nothing wrong with asking, after all.
Never assume that you know everything. It is wiser to ask people straight on than grope in the dark. Your customers will be more than willing to point out what they are looking for. It will make things easier for them. Easier on to go give them what they want too.
Twip #4: Use hash tags.
Hash tags are like keywords. These are used to add metadata and context to your twits for tracking purposes. Hash tags are your link to everyone.
Using hash tags will make it easy for the search engines to find you. Eventually other people will also find you once they start searching for specific words or phrase related to what you are using. This is why hash tags should be present in your posts.
Twip #5: Unlock stream.
If you are after exposure, then locking your stream will be an unwise idea. You want followers, lots of them. Give them access and do not be a snob.
Twitter can be your list building tool. You can generate customers, repeat customers and referrals from your account. Make sure that you have an unlocked stream so everyone can access your posts, even if they are not in your list yet.
Twitting your business has more benefits than you can imagine.
