Last year we held our first ACE Marketing Meeting at the Hyatt lost Pines Resort in Austin Texas. We had a great meeting with non-stop speakers and ideas a mile a minute. Attendance was phenomenal, which made the meeting even better as ideas were kicked around and improved upon at the after hours events (in the bar). The speakers were the main feature, but the attendees were an unbelievably successful group. I guess they are successful because they recognize the benefits of a meeting like this. There has never been anything quite like it in dental Continuing education. There were dozens of practices that do well over a million Dollars in attendance. There were start up practices, insurance practices, insurance Free practices, CR and NM practices. the common thread was that everyone realized that in today’s world, marketing is what it takes to be successful.
We had such a great meeting in Austin at the Hyatt last year, that we booked it again, same time and location. The property is brand new and beautiful. The Austin airport is also brand new and the resort is not far. There is a huge outlet mall in San Marcos nearby if you have spousal company and Austin is a cool city, but there is no reason to leave the resort.
Our speaker lineup will include a few of last years most popular speakers, but we will have a majority of new speakers and the repeat speakers will have all new content. Our speaker line up will not be finalized until a few weeks prior to the meeting, because I want to leave some openings for the newest concepts in marketing. I will open the meeting with the hottest stuff on internet marketing. The theme will be “Metrics”, how do we know if it is working and how are our dollars being spent. Our returning speakers will be Dr. Brad Durham, Dr. Marvin Berlin, Howie Horrocks and Mark Dilatush from New Patients Incorporated.
Brad teaches the “Developing the Niche Practice” course for LVI. He markets heavily and screens out patients that are not right for his practice. Brad does big numbers and is highly profitable in Savannah, Georgia. He will talk about how he gets the phone to ring and then what. Marvin is the “El Capitano” of a large group practice in McKinney, Texas.
They take everyone and do everything very well. Marvin works with Howie and Mark of New Patients Incorporated to do his marketing. Enough with the old dogs.
Today, the internet is it in marketing and Dr. Michael Barr developed and wrote the code for his own web site. His website kicks A-- in search in Southern Florida. He will tell us how he did it and how he stays ahead of the curve against professional web developers.
You may have seen Jamie Lynch speak last year as last minutes add in. He runs www.Dentalfind.com and many other sites. They seem to dominate search in the cosmetic dentistry arena. He will be speaking with Jason Olinski, a Jacksonville, Florida dentist who rocked his start up practice to huge numbers in a year. How he is TOTALLY out of the marketing box, and it works. Dr. Rick Coker, one of our ACE board members, has run a successful weekly television show on dentistry in Tyler, Texas for years. We will learn his secret of doing well while never working (because he is always posting on the internet). He claims delegation is the key. Dr. Mike Maroon, another of our board members, will show us how he hired an associate and got him busy through smart strategic planning and marketing to the community. Jay Geier of the Scheduling Institute will be entertaining us with live calls to dental offices to see how we should handle new patient calls.
Zach Hoffman of Search Engine Operator, Inc. – SEO.cc will be presenting on conversion and how minimal changes to your website can increase your Online Marketing efforts.
We will be adding many more great new speakers and ideas.
This will be the best meeting you will ever attend at least until the 2009 meeting. THIS is no BS. We had 150 people last year and may be able to expand the room to 300. I expect demand to be over 500 and Peter said “no way”. Don’t make me say “I told you so”.
