A large number of people are joining the internet marketing bandwagon as the days go by. One of the leading reasons for such an upsurge in numbers is AdSense, Google's incentive pay per click (PPC) program that empowers webmasters from all over the internet to publish contextually relevant ads on their digital pages, and get paid every time a browser clicks on an ad.

Nowadays, people who once avoided the internet like the plague have started to create informative websites that garner ads which are amazingly relevant to the subject of their web pages.

As such, visitors are more likely to click on these ads, and the webmasters can start profiting from the same. Bear in mind though, not all webmasters can be successful with PPC programs like Google AdSense. Many webmasters} aren't able to satisfy the three critical components of Google AdSense success.

What are these components?

1. Cost per click (CPC). Because AdSense is a PPC program, your income would naturally be based on how much is the cost of every click. Being able to target keywords that garner high costs from AdSense would surely enable you to earn more from this business model.

You can acquire a hundred clicks per day, for example, but if every ad only pays a cent for every click, you'd only have $1 to show for the day. But, if an ad is worth, for example $0.15 per click, that's an immediate fifteen dollars per day, which isn't bad at all for a single website.

Now, imagine if an ad is worth $1 or $2 per click. You would've hit the jackpot, right? Discovering CPC is not that easy. The best method is to join www.google.com/adwords.

Check out the bids for specific keywords that come to mind. This will give you an idea how much a click of their ads would pay.

2. Traffic. Traffic is the life stream of any internet business, AdSense-enrolled websites included. You have to generate visitors - a gargantuan volume of visitors if possible - to generate some clicks - a monstrous amount of clicks.

You can use tried and tested internet marketing strategies for this, of course.

3. Click through rate (CTR). The CTR refers to the percentage of visitors who actually click on the ads displayed on your web pages. You want to aim for a high CTR to make money online through AdSense.

A high CTR can be attained by inviting the proper ads per web page - which in turn can be done with dedicated content and correct keyword optimization - and the profitable placement of the ads on the layout of each web page.
