The reason Ebay's affiliate program isn't as popular as others is because there's a misconception that Ebay is just an auction site. People don't seem to realize that you can buy some items immediately.
And apparently a good majority of Ebay Affiliates also don't seem to realize this because there only promoting Ebay Affiliate Auctions. I personally believe that if customers wanted to participate in an auction that would go to the main Ebay site. If you really want to make money as an Ebay affiliate you need to find good quality bargain products for customers that they can buy immediately.
Your sales conversion rate will greatly increase if you give people affiliate links pointing directly to products with 'buy now' options. If your just pointing people towards auctions, they may not be saving any money. And you don't know how soon your customers want the product that your advertising. So while your waiting for an auction to close to make a sale you could be missing out on hundreds of dollars from people who want to buy items immediately.
Plus, with auctions your taking a gamble that your customer will win. If you lead somebody to an auction and they lose, you've just wasted your time and lost money. That's why it's best if you go out searching for people looking for products and provide them with what there looking for.
That is a sure-fire way to make an affiliate sale because you know that the person your advertising to is interested in buying your affiliate product because they asked for it. By only targeting eager buyers you can save time and boost your profits.
