Ezine Advertising: How to Advertise and Earn Money With Ezines

Ezines (also called electronic magazines) provide an effective way to advertise your websites while accessing a large, targeted audience. Ezine advertising usually costs some money, as ezine owners earn through their advertising spots.

But the investment is often well worth it, particularly if the ezine is very much related to your website niche. If this is the case, then the people reading the ezine are going to be highly targeted prospects for your offer.

Generally, there are three ways to advertise in ezines. These are through classified ads, solo ads and sponsor ads.

Classified Ads

Classified ads are small and usually found at the very bottom of ezine newsletters. You have to create a short, sharp message for these ads due to their small size.

These are often the cheapest ezine ads spots to purchase, but are only effective if the ezine has a large number of subscribers (in the thousands). Some classified ads are even free if there are not many advertisers vying for the positions.

Solo Ads

Solo ads are considered the best way to take advantage of ezine advertising. These ads, as the name suggests, dominate the ezine. They are usually the most expensive ad to purchase, but the results can be astounding.

Your solo ad fills the entire email with only your advertisement. There will be no other competitors or advertisers alongside you. This means the readers’ attention is solely on your advertisement.

In effect, the list owner sends the newsletter to his subscribers solely for you! Without a doubt, ezine solo ads are the best way to advertise in a popular ezine.

Sponsor Ads

Sponsor ads can be found in the middle or at the top of ezines. You often will not be the only sponsor ad on display, so make sure yours stands out for maximum effect and attention.

Sponsor ads are cheaper than solo ads, but cost more than classified ads. You will also have more space than classified ads so your ad can contain more details.

So now you know that solo ads are the best and most effective ads, sponsor ads are the next best thing, and classifieds are still worth a try if you are on a budget. You should try out all three ezine advertising options to see how each one performs for you.

You will generally read many recommendations about solo ads and just how effective they are. So how much do they cost? In some cases, the cost can be as high as $2000 for a popular ezine.

To discover if this cost is worth it, weigh up how many people the ezine is being delivered to and calculate a modest conversion rate. Then calculate how much you can earn per sale. You will come up with a figure; and if it is significantly more than $2000 (or the cost of the solo ad), then there is a good chance that it will be worth the investment. Your figures should be underestimated to allow for the worst-case scenario.

Ezine advertising is an excellent way to promote your website, so don't hesitate in experimenting with this method.
