I would probably ask the same thing. Is the “price tag” really the question? What we all really want to determine is the worth.   Think about it. If the price tag was a real issue, how could a person justify spending several thousand dollars on the latest entertainment center?   Justification is the real issue. The real question is can I justify the cost of this opportunity? The cost to begin working from home somehow gets more scrutiny.   “How much does it cost”, is a way of consciously and subconsciously determining worth.   Let’s look at few examples of what is really being asked:   <ul> <li>Price: What does this work at home opportunity cost in real currency?</li> <li>Return: What am I going to receive from (get out of) this?</li> <li>Worth: What is this opportunity worth compared to something else?</li> </ul>   What is usually not considered is the “cost” of not seizing an opportunity.   The real challenge from a marketing viewpoint is to present the worth of an opportunity in such a way as to overcome “price tag” objections. If a person believes that something has worth to them, there is really very little “selling” involved.   Understand and believe that people do what they really want to do.   Look at the sports and recreation industries. Those who participate can not necessarily “afford” to. Psychologically and emotionally they believe and feel their participation is worth it; no matter what the cost.   Marketing and selling real or perceived worth, is how a $50 item of clothing can sell for $500 with the right label. The buyer simply justifies the purchase.   As marketers, you and I must convey the worth of our work from home opportunity in a way that satisfies “buyer’s justification” to avoid “buyer’s remorse”. Justification is a powerful force.   This is the reason marketing “lifestyle” and emotion over cold hard facts is so powerful. It may be a numbers game as some say, but never rule out the power of perception. I believe in what I do and so do you. Working from home, in my case internet marketing, is a fantastic opportunity. The only problem is our market doesn’t care about our passion or enthusiasm.   What they do care about, first and foremost, is what is in this for me and my family? How will this help me?
