How to Get Massive Myspace Traffic - Part 5

I’m now going to show you how to find your market on My Space and start getting traffic into your My Space account, which you can then obviously divert onto your list, onto your website, or wherever you want.

There’s various different ways that you can find your market on My Space. Let’s just go through a few of them.

The first one "this is my account" and the first one involves just doing a search. So you just either type into the search box here, type the things you’re looking for, the types of interests and hobbies you’re looking for, or you can type the specific people you’re trying to find or classmates or whatever.

So let me just go and do the easiest way, which is just to put a phrase in here. Now for my profile let’s just say I’m interested in golf. I’m selling golf products or golf information, golf ebooks or something like that. Remember, I’m not going to be doing this outright openly on My Space, because you’ll get banned, but I do want to build up a profile on My Space that’s related to my interests and to my market, which is golf.

So we just hit search on that and we’re just going to see what comes back. We’re searching My Space for the word ‘golf,’ and you’ll see a few results come back here. In fact, pages and pages of results come back, all to do with golf.

So at the moment we’ve got zero friends. So let’s go through and let’s say we click on this one here, ‘Alpha Golf’ and this is Alpha Golf. This is another My Space account and what you do is go down and you’d see that this particular Alpha Golf account has got 2,480 friends.

Now he’s chosen his best friends to be on his front page, which you can set up in your profile, and you can see here the people have basically posted stuff on here in this account. So if you wanted to go and post something right now, post a message, let’s just say you wanted to go and reach these people, you would click ‘Add comment.’ Let me just go and show you what happens.

‘Error. You must be someone’s friend to make comments,’ so you can’t make comments on anybody’s post or anybody else’s profile until you become their friend. So this is the whole basis of My Space.

So what you have to do is go and join and become friends with this profile. What you can do is actually go back and forward and find all the different friends that are related to your particular market, in this case we’re talking golf.

So we’re on Alpha Golf, and all you do to add this person as your friend is click here where it says ‘Add to friends.’ Click on that.

‘Do you really wish to add Alpha Golf as a friend?’

‘Yes, add to friends.’

Then it says, ‘An email has been sent to you for your request to add this user.’

So they’ll get a contact, and if they then go and approve you you’ll be added to their friends list. You can then go and post a comment on their particular profile.

So once you’ve added a friend and they’ve accepted you, you can then go on and make a post on their profile at the bottom here, like these guys have done. Now you notice some of these are text, some of them have got images, and the images stand out better. They just stand out more effectively.

Now if you want to get an image you can actually try and create one yourself, but what I recommend you do for this purpose is go to www.BannersMall.com. This is the site, www.BannersMall.com.

Now you can go on here, as it says you can get a banner for $26.95. The thing about this is it’s professional. If you just have a look at some of the examples, look at these banners. They’re very professional looking. All you would need is something maybe this kind of size, something that stands out.

Now you’ve got to be careful. Again, you don’t want it to look too commercial or have a price on it or look too product-oriented. Just something that’s going to stand out. Maybe it’s got a picture of your face on it with ‘Get free report’ or ‘Join my My Space free golfing guide’ or whatever it is, but these guys can create a great banner for you very very cheaply that’s going to stand out.

So once you’ve done that you can then use that banner to post onto the profile of the friends that you actually add. When this friend approves you, you’ll get notification into your My Space account saying ‘Yes, this friend has been added.’

You can then send them a message personally and you can post on their messages board below.

What you need to do now, because we’re on a golf profile, the idea is that you go off to all these other profiles that are related and add them. You start expanding your network, and you’ll soon find that you’ll appear on other people’s pages.

People will then click on you, they’ll add you to their friends, and the whole thing becomes viral.

Now there are automated tools that do this. I’ve not used these tools, but my own personal feeling is that you’re probably better to do it yourself. If you want to be 100% certain you’re not going to get banned or your account’s not going to get removed, do it yourself.

By doing it yourself you’re also going to develop a more personal relationship with each of the people that you’re actually adding to your network.

Now once you get to a certain point it will become almost automatic when you get to a certain level. Your profile will be more out there and more people will find you. But to begin with you’re going to have to go off and find people that match your kind of interest or your market and start adding them as friends, and sending them a "Thank you, I’m going to add you" and posting on their messages board at the bottom of their profile.

So that’s one that we found just by adding a simple search. We just did a search for a subject and we found this particular profile.

Let’s now move on to another way that you can actually find your market in My Space.
