How to get targeted traffic to any website you want to promote

Though most people will tell you that "traffic is king and that's all you need to succeed online," it isn't quite the honest truth.

It is true that no business can succeed without traffic, but it isn't the quantity of traffic that matters but the quality. Paying
for "Traffic" or "Hits" is basically useless if you are trying to promote something that will make you money, whether you are selling umbrellas or trying to get signups in your mlm program.

The reason for that is because "Hits" are usually computer generated and there isn't a real person visiting your website, and
"paid for traffic" is coming from people who either receive an incentive for clicking through to your site or because they were
"redirected" to your site after clicking on someone else's link or your page simply "Popped Up" when they clicked on another link.

Those hits are not coming from people who are interested in what your have to sell or promote, so their visits are useless.

What every business needs is "Targeted Traffic". Targeted traffic are visitors who click through to your website because they are
interested in what you have to offer. You would actually get more sales from 100 targeted visitors than you would from 1,000,000 paid for visits. So it's really quite obvious that it's not the quantity of traffic that will guarantee your success, but the quality.

If you do a search for terms about how to get traffic to your website, your search will return millions of websites that say they
will send you traffic for a price, or want you to join their program for generating your own leads and traffic, but more than
99% of them are just out to get your money. They will send traffic or hits as mentioned above, but the traffic is NOT interested
visitors and most of the time the "Hits" won't even register on your own hits counter.

Google Analytics is an awesome program for tracking visits to your website and the most correct and reliable that I have ever used, but it won't track the traffic that you pay for because the hits are just computer generated and coming from the same IP address, or "redirects" which come from the same IP address. And that kind of traffic is worthless.

Unfortunately most people who try to make money on the internet will fail because they won't know how to get targeted traffic and will end up following the advice of all the sites out there who are shouting, "Buy Targeted Traffic Here!" They remind me of the snake oil salesmen of the 19th century. They blast you with too-good-to-be-true cures until they sucker you into giving them
your money, and then you find out that snake oil is nothing but snake oil.

There are several very good ways to get targeted traffic, but first let me tell you what NOT to do.

Things you SHOULD NOT do:

* Never buy leads, even if they're "Double Opt-In, Triple Opt-In or Phone Verified"
* Never pay for "Guaranteed Visitors"
* Never use "Safelists".
* Never use "Ad Blasters"
* Never rely on "Surf Sites" or "Traffic Exchanges"

Things you SHOULD do:

* Article Marketing
* Ezine Advertising
* Classified Advertising
* Respond to forums with a signature link
* Email follow up (very important)
