Being a successful Ebay affiliate isn't as hard as being successful in other affiliate programs, but there can be some difficulties if you don't start your business off right.
First, don't choose to promote products that you think people will like. Before you choose a product, go around the internet and search through classified ads and forums and find out what people are really looking for. This is the way to truly make money. A lot of times people will see a product that they think is cool and come to the conclusion that since they like, everybody else will also. That may be true but that doesn't mean people are willing to spend money on it.
If you want to make money as a Ebay affiliate you need to find products to promote that people are willing to spend money on.
Second, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. If you know that one of your competitors is selling a healthy amount of Ipods, guess what? It's time for you to start selling Ipods. If your want to make money you have to go after things that make money.
Now I'm not saying that you can't promote products that you find interesting, what I'm saying is that along with those products you need to promote proven money makers.
And this brings me to my third tip...
Third, work as fast as possible. Your goal with affiliate marketing is to make money. So it's best if you know which products make money and which ones don't as soon as possible.
Also, the faster you work, the faster you can get to the next product to promote. The last thing you want to do is waste valuable time on products that have no hope of succeeding. As soon as you finish your promotional efforts for a product, start on another one. Even if your other product isn't making any sales.
