Build a Web site and you are in business. Ha! If it were only that simple. With thousands of web site selling the same thing as you are how do you get out of the pack?
Search engine optimization must exist to bring traffic on your web site but also to keep your customers happy! How do you achieve this? By catching the visitor's attention with quality and interesting content.
Here are a few tips on how to achieve this goal:
1) Make your content easy to read. Try to avoid wall of text that will make your visitors runaways! Use short paragraphs and subheadings to make it easier for them to find what they are looking for.
2) Try to update your website on a regular basis. Write new content every week. Put a newsletters archive section and optimize your content for the search engines. Do your best to keep users coming back for more.
3) Avoid long load times that make the user wait. Optimize your graphics on every page to make your site load faster. Remember that users will generally wait for a site to load for 12 seconds before leaving. And if they leave they won't come back!
4) Avoid typographical errors. There is no excuse for poor grammar. You must build your credibility and professionalism. A bunch of free spell-checking and grammar-checking tool are available online.
5) Provide Clear and Easy web site navigation. Make sure your website navigation is clear and easy to navigate. If the visitors get lost you will not get a second chance. This is a crucial detail that can make or break your site. Don't let them get lost along the way!
Never stop expanding your website until your goal has been reached!
