Why Social Networks are “In” These Days
Social Networking is fast becoming the “in thing” nowadays. Social networking sites are growing by leaps and bounds, while still offering the same opportunities for their members—mainly connecting with other members all over the world without leaving the comforts of home.
While social networks may include dating and social websites like My Space, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, they now provide business owners the benefits of reaching out to clients, consumers and customers across the globe, again, without leaving their home or business area.
How to Promote Your Website through Social Networks
First of all, in order to be more effective as a social network member, you need to narrow down your scope, meaning, focus on your field of interest or business type, area or territory. It pays to be more focused in your social networking because it makes your need to connect with your target demographic much easier to meet.
Second, it is best to use your keywords in a generous manner, starting with your username. Drop your keywords everywhere—from your blog posts to your “About Me” page to your “Interests” and of course, your “Signature.”
Third, talk about your business effusively, as much as you can, promoting your goods and services via blog entries, your profile page, videos, audio files, photos; be as creative as you can be. People will notice and once you have their attention, it will be much easier to throw in your sales pitch, and your audience will be much more open to what you are selling.
Fourth, drop your business and personal website links everywhere; and I mean everywhere. Post it in your profile page, in your “About Me” page, in your “Signature,” in your blog posts, in the videos and audio you upload, even in photos. Creativity is the key. It also helps to exchange links with your friends or members of your social circle; having a healthy give and take relationship with your fellow members can really help your business.
Fifth, invite everyone to join your social network—from close friends to acquaintances, to people you meet each day, to old friends and colleagues you have lost touch with, and even some new people you meet online through your social networking site.
It is important to note that you should not start off with your hardcore sales pitch. It is best to sweeten the deal first by offering free stuff, exchanging tips or advice, sharing free information with your fellow members. With that out of the way, you’re good to go! Good luck!
