How to Use Software to Manage Your Bulk Email Marketing

Bulk email marketing software is one of those tools that is used by internet email marketers to advertise offers. The architecture of the software consists of a database from where email addresses and customer profiles are stored and used to mail offers and promotions to. This is a much more structured approach to email marketing than just sending out a single email with over a thousand people in the CC list. As a matter of fact, that is exactly what spammers do and the main cause of their downfall as well. Spammers won’t ask you before they send you an email – or more accurately – hundreds of emails. In the old days, this used to take away people’s productive time and mailbox space.

Using the software for email marketing involves the first and most crucial step of building up your database. This is a complicated task because you should get the express permission of the recipients of your mailing campaign before you mail them. This is called the opt-in and can be done by using sign-on forms on your site and using other methods like tying up with other business ventures that have huge user databases. Another route for bulk email marketing address acquisition is to leverage the potential of a social networking site to connect to the users.

Once you have built up your database, the next step is to create an email to send your offer out in. This requires the use of an email template to make your job much easier. Create this or get one on the internet that reflects your cooperate image and also syncs with the needs of your content. This is an important step because unlike a spammer, you probably do care about what happens to your emails once you send them out. This means that after you send an email you would like to know if they have been opened, acted upon, and what the activity was. In bulk email marketing software, this can be done by analyzing open rates, link statistics, and other metrics like the bounce back report. All of these have to be looked at closely to understand what happened to the emails after you sent them.

At the end of the day, the conversion rates of email marketing are still quite low and if it wasn’t for the low cost of the exercise, it would probably be abandoned altogether as a possible way of selling.
