Lead Generation - Your Home Based Business' Biggest Obstacle

Without It, You're Like a Row Boat without Oars.

As a network marketer, you know that without interested leads, your business is not going to grow. It is like building a football stadium without having a team; nobody will show up at the stadium.

If you were to talk to any struggling network marketer and ask them what is the biggest problem area with their business, 99% of them would reply, that they couldn't find enough interested people to buy their products or join their business.

When I interview them and ask them what methods they are using to generate leads, I get a whole host of different responses. So I have decided to list them for you, now don't get to wound up its okay we've all done it.

• Talking to friends, family, co-workers, and church members etc. We all know this is your warm market. Good for signing people up who will drop out within 60-90 days. Why? They are not your targeted market and mostly did it as a favor to you. Also they don't get rich quick and lose interest.
• Hold or attend house parties, great for Mary Kay, Pampered Chef or even Avon. These are the only people that can actually benefit from that because they are all famous companies and people actually want their products. You are unknown, and so are your products and people are only thinking one thought, pyramid scheme. Huge waste of time that could be spent on real lead generation.
• Business cards, post cards and flyers. These yield only 2-3 leads per 500 handed out and the cost will start to add up, almost all, end up in the trashcan.
• Buying targeted leads. Or as I like to call them, "un-targeted leads". These leads are passed around to thousands of gullible marketers and the only people getting rich are the lead companies. They get their leads from buying department store and business store data banks based on credit card purchases. They also get their leads from surveys of which they give away gifts for filling out the survey. These leads are people who do not want to talk to you and will get very angry when you call them. Have you ever heard of the term "tele-marketer"? They are not expecting your call and did not give you permission to call them. These companies do not give refunds.
• Buying a company replicated website. Save your money unless it is free. These sites do very little because again, nobody out there, that isn't a member, knows your company, so newcomers are unlikely to search for it.
• Paying web-blasting companies to promote your company replicated website. Again, no one knows your company and won't sign up on a whim. This one can get expensive so beware, and you don't have any way to keep them honest. No refunds to be found here.
• Finally free ad companies. Such as USFreeAds, Craig's list etc. Unless you are a prolific accomplished writer, very little results here, just a bunch of struggling network marketers trying to cross-recruit.

Lead generation is an acquired skill, learned through training. There are many do's and don'ts. One can severely ruin his or her reputation and spend a long time repairing it. You are doing all of your work on the internet in front of millions of people, so you want to get it right the first time.

When you have spent the time an invested in training, the internet will become your best friend and lifeline. It can and will produce an endless supply of qualified and seriously interested leads for you. Proper training will market you as the expert and not focus on your company. People want to buy and join up with a person that they trust and consider a leader as well as an expert.

Once you master the art of internet lead generation, you will never look back at any of the methods that you used to use. You will be able to run and grow a successful business that will produce income that you never thought possible.
