The next shortcut: you must choose what to work on. If you are like most people you have a long list of projects that you can get started on straight away. Don't be tempted.
Choose one project and one project only. There are so many opportunities to make money on the internet that it's easy to be distracted. Get focussed. You will appreciated it in the long run. work on just one single project at a time.

The best way to pick your next project, assuming you do not have one at the moment is to make a list of the following:
1. Your work experience (past and present)
2. Your hobbies (past and present)
3. Your interests and ideas (past and present).
If you do some brain storming you can come up with some brilliant ideas. You need to find a niche that you will enjoy. Think about the things you have done in the past. Think about what you do in your spare time. Think about what you always dream of doing or what you would do if money or time were not an issue. Think really hard.
When you have completed your draft list you should choose three niches of which you will carry out some initial research. Pick the three niches you really fancy spending time on. Once you have completed this research on each of the three niches, you can pick the one you most favour as your new project. The one that you feel will be most successful.
