Social Networking Sites: New Way of Internet Marketing

Social networking sites are where people share their interest, ideas, activities, and thoughts. People can easily interact with each other and share photos, videos, stories, bookmarks and messages. Social networking sites allow you to keep reminders for birthdays, anniversaries, and upcoming events. They also have applications which you can add to your profile page to help you interact with friends and family in different ways. For example you can create a ‘group’ which might be based on a particular topic which then other people can join and recommend. People can be members of lots of different groups and this is one of the reasons why these social sites can be used as a very lucrative network marketing tool.

Most of these sites are free for registration and we can also invite our friends. Basically this brings everyone together under one roof. You can then grow your network by searching for friends. You can add your websites and other information, and the more you fill up your profile with information the more exposure you will get on the network. Most of the sites having information like birth date, birth place, school/ college details, profession, areas of interest, and much more. So the more info you have on your profile, the more it will get seen by people searching for similar interests etc…

We can use these sites to market our services. Keep your profile updated with all your services/ businesses and if you have sites and blogs then make sure you put their links on there also. Every time people visit your profile, they will see your services or business ideas and you may get useful contacts from here. Another way to gain more exposure is to join your favorite communities (group) or your relevant business communities (group) and increase your profile visibility.

Have a look at some social networking sites now. Probably the most obvious social networking site at the moment is Facebook.com. There are a lot of different things you can do like, send messages, give and receive online gifts, and greetings and some sites provide online chatting facilities also.
