This dress almost had 2000 diamonds totalling 3000 carats, worth $2.5 million, as these dress was also designed by Randi Rahm.
 
Jewellery worn at the Oscars is not buyed by the celebrities, its not that they could not afford the jewellery but they don’t have to buy the jewellery as the jewellery designers and dealers sponsors them to gain the visibility for their companies, and so fashion designer. The jewellery which are worn by celebrities are selected by them, from the catalogue that designer wants to promote. There are designer who work with several celebrities, so that they can’t repeat the same design item again.
 
The theme of last year (2007) academy award was off the shoulder dresses. Especially with a band diagonally across one of the shoulders with followers such as Kate Winslet, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Beyoncé just to mention a few. <a href="http://www.gold.uk.net/">Yellow gold</a> was spotted on very few celebrities and diamond cuffs were preferred over neckwear’s. However the one trend of jewellery was diamonds drop earrings and big size flower studs.
 
Jennifer Lopez was seen in Lorraine Schwartz diamond and <a href="http://www.i-diamonds.co.uk/">topaz drop earrings</a> matching with her Romanesque Marchesa dress, Beyoncé was not wearing any jewellery but the gemstones built into Giorgio Armani Privé frock, Eddie Murphy was spotted in a one-button grey Versace Couture tuxedo with black silk satin peak lapels accessorised with large diamond stud earrings.
 
It’s always been interesting to watch Oscars and check out which jewellery design is going to gain popularity.
