For Kate Winslet Titanic meant making it onto the Hollywood "A" list, though her salaries are still not on the level of Julia Roberts or Angelina Jolie. After she acted several other characters, her chance finally comes. "The Reader" places the Oscar in her hands.
Kate Winslet pulled off on Sunday night, winning the Academy Award for best actress for her quietly powerful performance in "The Reader." That night, she also won top marks for style. Kate oozed classic Hollywood glamour with upswept hair, diamonds and a one-shouldered silk and lace Yves Saint Laurent gown.
We see that Winslet smiles happily that night. Yes, it was indeed it would be a forever remarkable moment for her. All her works had been got the final saying.
