And felt like we had a handle on what was going on however, we learned more in the last couple years of trying to market the silicone wristband site then we had learned the many years prior to this. I guess the biggest difference right off was that Donny was able to pay us enough that we could hire the people needed to market his site. And due to the amount we were being paid we need to show a return on his investment fast. What we found shocked and surprised even us. In the world of making money with a website search engine friendly web development and optimization play a much larger role them most people realize. Little things like changing the color of a button can increase the number of clicks that button is getting. While we’ve always focused on increasing the number of visitors in some markets that’s not an easy thing to do and we have to focus equally on trying to convert the current traffic. In the silicone wristband business it was about both, increasing the conversion of the current traffic and finding new traffic. This is where search engine friendly web development and optimization really came into play. We had one person doing nothing but playing with the graphical look of the site and 4 others doing nothing but playing with trying to make the site rank better in the search engines. The competition was a lot tougher than we had first though it would be however we were able to show the client over $100,000.00 worth of sales in less than 6 months time all from our efforts.
