In the Bible versus the Quran: Jeremiah's inheritance is like a lion

The Lion is mentioned in the Bible 119 times, 110 times in the Old Testament and nine times in the New Testament.   The Lion itself is not mentioned in the Noble Quran; however, wild beasts (wild animals) is mentioned once.

According to the Bible, the Lord God is a young lion, lion and a leopard. Also, Jacob, Judah, Bashan, the evil-doer etc. are all like a lion.  The Devil (Satan) is a lion too.

The Quran says that there is nothing like Allah; Naught is as His likeness in attribute, knowledge, power and providence; and He is the Hearer of what you say, the Seer of your works.

To make it similar between a creature and another creature is acceptable.

However, to make likeness or resemblance between the Creator and his creatures is not acceptable; it is very big sin.

Is an enemy in the likeness of a friend?

How come that the Bible Say that the Lord God is as a lion and the Devil (Satan) is as a lion! Is it acceptable?

According to the Muslim's faith, it is a very big sin to say or to believe in that.

This is the last article in the series of The Lion in the Bible versus the Quran (1-7)

In the Bible: The Lord God is a young lion, lion and a leopard

There are nine verses in the Bible that say:

The Lord GOD is as a lion

The Lord GOD is as a young lion

The Lord GOD roar like a lion

The Lord GOD is like a leopard

The LORD Almighty will come down  to do battle on Mount Zion and on its heights as a great lion over his prey

Isaiah 31:4

For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.

God is like a lion to Ephraim, like a great lion to Judah. He will tear them to pieces and go away; He will carry them off, with no one to rescue them

Hosea 5:14

For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.

They will follow the LORD; He will roar like a lion. When He roars, his children will come trembling from the west.

Hosea 11:10

They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.

God will come upon them like a lion, like a leopard He will lurk by the path.

Hosea 13:7

Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them.

The lion has roared who will not fear?  The LORD has spoken who can but prophesy?

Amos 3:8

The lion hath roared, who will not fear? The Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?

What is the Likeness of Allah in the Quran?

Allah is the Creator,

There is a VERY BIG DIFFERENCE between the Creator and His Creatures.

That is why:

They have not honored Allah with the honor that is due to Him

And they do not esteem Allah as He should be esteemed,

They do not understand His true nature,

They do not exalt Him with the exaltation truly worthy of Him;

They do not magnify Allah as He should be magnified

Verse 39:67

QARIB: they have not valued Allah with his true value. …

SHAKIR: and they have not honored Allah with the honor that is due to him; …

PICKTHAL: and they esteem not Allah as he hath the right to be esteemed,

YUSUFALI: no just estimate have they made of Allah, such as is due to him: ….

---------------

There is nothing like Allah;

Naught is as His likeness in attribute, knowledge, power and providence;

And He is the Hearer of what you say, the Seer of your works.

Verse 42:11

QARIB: … there is nothing like him. he is the hearer, the seer.

SHAKIR: the …. Nothing like a likeness of him; and he is the hearing, the seeing

PICKTHAL: … naught is as his likeness; and he is the hearer, the seer.

YUSUFALI: … there is nothing whatever like unto him, and he is the one that hears and sees (all things).
