How to fix a kictchen sink

Kitchen sinks are of various types like single bowl and double bowl single drain and double bowl double drain. In homes the use define the type to be fixed. For restaurants or heavy use areas, the most common is the double bowl double drain. This is also being used homes today. When preparing to fix this sinks its prudent to check the drain outlets and water inlets. It is to ensure that they conform to what is being replaced and availability.

In fixing a kitchen sink whether in a new or old house, the place to mounted it must be accessible underneath. This allows servicing the drain outlet in case of blockage or leakage. Most of this is opening compartments below the bowl. When ready to commence fitting, remove the old sink first. Measure the granite top to accommodate the new one and cut or grind accordingly. Hack off the splash backing or tiles above it then fix new before replacing.

The kitchen sink comes with drain cocks and waste water fittings. Confirm this are included in the package. After hacking off the splash backing, fit the sink to ensuing it overlaps properly on the granite block. Remove add silicon and fit again pressing firmly for it to bond round the joint between bowl and granite. This stops seepage on this joint. Open the mixer to lay the splash backing whether of tiles or granite. Clean and grout the tiles.

Now that the kitchen sink is in place, Pick the waste pipes and bottle trap and join together. Ensure that the instructions for joining with adhesive are followed. Tie the drain from underneath and ensure its water tight. Take the kitchen mixer and tie it back to the water outlets. Add the drain cocks to the bowls. After this run the water and fill the sink to check the system if it is leaking. Finally Clean off excess silicon and any adhesive.
