Organization Guide for Cluttered Kitchens

Do you ever think about organizing your kitchen while putting away the dishes, preparing to cook a meal, or putting the groceries away? There are some very good reasons for cutting down on kitchen clutter and getting it organized. Have you ever begun cooking a meal only to realize that you are out of rice or another necessary ingredient? This is common in a kitchen that is not organized properly, but there are many ways to correct this problem. Here are five reasons why it is beneficial to reduce clutter in your kitchen:

1. It is amazing how much time you save when you no longer have to look for the cookie sheet, or rearrange the entire cabinet to make room for the mixing bowl.

2. You are less likely to run out of key ingredients. Being organized means being able to see at a glance what you need to replace and what you have available.

3. Your food should not spoil as often. When you use food storage organizers, you should be able to tell which foods are closest to expiration. You can even prevent foods from spoiling. Cooking can become a much more enjoyable experience.

4. Storage solutions can help keep your equipment in tip-top shape. There is no need to put up with nicks and scratches in your good cookware, or chips on your dishes. Proper storage helps keep your cooking and serving equipment in good condition. (see equipment storage solutions below)

Organizing a cluttered kitchen may seem like an insurmountable task, but luckily, you do not have to go it alone. Here are just a few of the many products on the market to help you de-clutter your kitchen.

Get your cabinets and shelves organized with the help of some simple organization products. Start by opening your cabinet doors and taking a good look at the space you have available. How much of it is wasted? Do you have unused space above your stacked dishes? How about dishes of different sizes stacked on top of each other? Here are a few storage solutions that can help you get a grip on organizing your kitchen cabinets and shelves.

  • Rollout cabinet drawers are wire racks on ball-bearing tracks that fit into your cabinets. They make it easier for you to use every bit of depth without the need to get down on your hands and knees to hunt in the back of the cabinet.

  • Expanding step shelves make it easier for you to see all the items in your cabinet. They come in several sizes, and can be used for anything from small jars of spices to canned vegetables and fruits.

  • 2-drawer organizers fit under the sink, under the cabinet or on tall shelves in your pantry. Rolling drawers double the space you have available for storage and give you easy access to everything in your cabinets.

Pantry Storage Solutions

An organized food pantry makes it much easier to plan meals. Storage solutions that allow you to see what you have, and what you are running out of, at a quick glance.

  • Pantry door rack turns the unused space on the back of any door into a pantry. The wire rack features eight adjustable shelves for storing canned goods, jars and boxes. Practically double your storage space with one inexpensive solution.

  • Single wrap organizer is another back-of-the-door pantry storage solution, this one to hold all of your plastic wraps and aluminum foils. It is a time-tested solution that can save you from wasted time searching for the foil.

Food Storage Solutions

Food storage is another area where organization really pays off, both in saving you money and saving you time. Here are just a couple of products that can make a big difference in your cluttered pantry and refrigerator.

  • Round tea box is a great way to store a variety of different kinds of tea bags within in easy reach – and without the clutter of a dozen boxes on your counter.

  • Green bags have taken the nation by storm. They actually come in a number of different colors, green for produce, red for meat and others. Green tea bags have been proven to extend the life of your food through a gas emission exchange technology. Green bags are a great way to organize the foods in your refrigerator, especially if you are careful about what you store in proximity to other vegetables.

Kitchen Space Organization Solutions

Organizing your kitchen with freestanding counters and cabinets can increase your storage space and give you additional food preparation areas. These two products are the top of the list for organizing your cluttered kitchen.

  • Butcher-block bin is a great space saving solution that provides you with extra storage space, extra counter space and a place to hide your trash bin.

  • Pantry caddy fits perfectly into that tiny slice of space between your refrigerator and your counter – or any other slim space you might have in your kitchen. You can add six shelves, including shelves that hold tall boxes and cans, in less than a foot of space. It is a brilliant solution for anyone who needs more cabinet space.

Equipment Storage Solutions

Pots, pans, knives and blenders are all products that take up room in your kitchen. To recover this space you need a way to keep all those things organized and easy to find.

  • Clear knife organizer stores up to eight of your favorite knives upright, and unlike traditional wooden knife blocks, you can see exactly which knife you are grabbing.

  • Pot lid organizer fits under the cabinet and makes it easy to keep the lids of your pots and pans organized and easy to find.

Consider these products when you decide to take the extra step to organize your kitchen. Kitchen organization is a difficult process that may take a lot of time to figure out the best solution. However, with careful consideration and the right products the process becomes much easier.
