These days, who really wants to stick with the same old boring kitchen designs when alternatives that are more attractive are around the corner- like the granite and marble stones. Remodeling kitchen has almost become a fashion fad and why not, it is not that expensive, which makes remodeling kitchens affordable and attractive proposition.
You will agree that maintenance, upkeep, and decoration of rooms like kitchens and drawing rooms say a lot about the place one inhabits. Astonishingly, kitchen is the place that attracts most attention than other places. More often than not, it becomes a yardstick for measuring the status and tastes of the person.

Which one should you prefer?
Granite- It is magma based igneous rock formation found nearly 50km underground. It is the second hardest material after diamonds. Granites are known for their tough exterior, which makes them best fit for building purposes. So, how will granites help in kitchen? For a start, it is tough and weather resistant. Secondly, they can stand the hazards of extensive usage when normal tiles will wilt away. Moreover, they are resistant to scratches and chipping- a common problem in kitchen.
Then, granites are easy to maintain and clean. Granites are really beneficial as kitchen countertops and equally suitable for building outdoor appliances like barbeques.
Marble- It is a metamorphic rock comprising of calcium carbonate or calcite. Some people prefer marble more than granite mainly because of their classy appeal and elegance. No stone can shine or glitter like marble and stay exact the way it is for years to come without any decay. Sculptors around the world use marble for their exquisite quality.
As compared to granite, marble are softer, which means the marble gets damaged easily and so needs replacement more often when you use them as kitchen countertops, tiles, and in bathrooms. In addition, marble is porous in nature, which means that they are prone to scratches.
Hence, whether you choose marble or granite for kitchen remodeling bay area is entirely your prerogative. Make a confirmed and conscious choice knowing its benefits and disadvantages. In both cases, they are affordable and add the chic feeling to kitchen countertops.
