One of the many pieces of equipment that are required for a completely outfitted above ground pool is the ladder. While many people don't give much thought to the ladder in an above ground pool if you stop to think about it, the ladder will be used be virtually every person that enters the pool after they jump in.
There are several different types of ladders that are available for an above ground pool and it is important that the right ladder be procured to accommodate the total needs of the people that are going to be using the pool. Above ground pool ladders are basically made out of two types of materials, those being plastic and aluminum and they both have their benefits.
Of course, the molded plastic ladders are going to be somewhat cheaper in the short run but the aluminum ladders will bar far outlast the plastic variety. The secret is determining just which type of ladder to use. Teenage boys at play can make even the most durable of hard items seem temporary at best and if your pool is going to be used by teenage boys who are going to be chasing each other up the pool ladder then you may want to go with a more durable ladder.
However; if the people that are going to be using your pool and the accessories that you equip it with are not teenage boys then you may be able to get away with a less expensive plastic ladder. One has to remember that a pool is a play area and expecting young people to be docile and light footed when you turn them loose in a nice warm pool on a sunny afternoon is somewhat unreasonable. So if your pool is going to be used by young people and most particularly teenagers then bear that in mind when equipping it.
