Many people think candles are for decorating indoors only. However, there are some great things you can do to accent your outdoor landscape and add a nice effect to your patio, garden, or deck. If you're looking for some unique lighting ideas for outside, here are some different things you can try:
Large Floating Candles: Do you have a large swimming pool or pond with a fountain in your backyard? While we often think floating candles only come in small sizes, there are a wide variety of large candles available as well. They come in many different styles and shapes, ranging from fun beach themed designs to elegant flower designs as well.
Tea Light Path: The glowing of luminaries along a pathway can add a beautiful touch in addition to providing light along a path. You can often purchase containers to hold small tea lights that will allow for light to shine through, or you can even make your own using small metal or plastic containers. Just be sure the container you choose in large enough and will not create a fire hazard. There are also battery operated tea lights you can use instead that can give off the same effect without the worry of an open flame.
Deck Lights: Decks are great places for entertaining and enjoying warm evenings relaxing or with friends. Having pillar candles arranged on various tables can make for a nice atmosphere for enjoying conversation or the sights on the outdoors at night.
Statues: Do you have a statue or other decorative piece in your landscape garden? You may wish to accent it with your favorite styles of candlelight to draw attention to it and give it a nice decorative touch to make it a beautiful attraction even at night.
Garden Designs: If you have large areas that are not filled with different plants or other decorative pieces, you may want to make a design in that space using candles. You can use mini tea lights to arrange them in the shape of a spiral, star, or other decorative design.
As you can see, candlelight can be used in a variety of ways in the garden, on your patio, or on your deck. The added light can be of great benefit when entertaining outdoors at night, as well as add a nice mood of elegance to any occasion.
