The Rain Bird Esp-4m (outdoor) - 4 Station Controller Makes Irrigation System Programming Easy!

Irrigation timing and control is truly a breeze with the Rain Bird ESP-4M Four Station Controller. One of the best features of this product is that it provides flexibility for homeowners by allowing for easy expansion. The four station base model is great to start, and can expand to control up to twelve irrigation stations without the need to install a completely new system. For homeowners starting with basic lawn irrigation, but who want the flexibility to add additional zones for flower beds or vegetable gardens, this Rain Bird four station controller is the way to start. A 13th station can be used for outdoor lighting, allowing even more flexibility and control.
Fully Programmable 365 days in Advance
These control stations are perfect for landscapers that install systems for homeowners or light commercial work, as the control modules can be programmed for up to a full year's work from the office. The irrigation manager can program the system by installing a 9 volt battery in the comfort of the office, providing efficiency for those managing multiple landscapes. It is easier, and more accurate to program the controller before it is installed on a wall, making it awkward to add an entire year's worth of programming at once. An additional benefit for landscape and irrigation contractors is that the controller will retain the original settings that you install so that you can re-set the controller if the homeowner changes the settings.
Testing is Easy and Efficient
Every irrigation system will be afflicted by problems within the lines or the wiring at some point during its live. Power surges, blockages and water restrictions can wreak havoc on a system. Rain Bird's ESP 4 Station Controller makes it easy to test the system and diagnose problems. The system will automatically alert the user if there is a problem that could keep the irrigation system from working properly and will display information on the digital panel, as well as via an alarm light. A fuseless circuit breaker automatically identifies stations with electrical problems and continues to water other stations until diagnosis and fixing occurs. This ensures that, especially if the homeowner is away, the entire lawn or garden will not go without water indefinitely.
Compliance with Water Use Laws Automatically
Efficiency of water use is maintained by a sensor-connection mechanism that easily attaches to the controller. When programming the system, the user can instruct the controller to react according to sensor data to water efficiently. The Rain Bird controller also contains a mechanism that allows the user to set a permanent "off day" to comply with local water restrictions in times of doubt. That gives the homeowner or business owner peace of mind that the sprinkler will not go off during a prohibited time.
The Most Convenient Irrigation Controller Available
Other features make the Rain Bird ESP-4M Outdoor controller one of the best available. Its five year lithium battery helps maintain data during power outages, meaning that complex irrigation programs will not have to be re-entered after loss of power. Various automatic program settings can be customized to suit individual property needs. The mechanical composition also synchs with drip and other special irrigation systems. Its ease of use and flexibility make the Rain Bird ESP-4M Outdoor Four Station Controller one of the most preferred irritation system control panels on the market.

I have had problems with the Rainbird ESP 4M timer error light coming on and of course the unit fails to operate! It was also difficult to program. The solution was to replace the internal Lithium 3V battery. Problem solved it seems. dave

I had a mechanical controller for 25 years. Then last year I replaced it with this new controller. It worked fine for one year. I hate "planned obsolescence" - I hate this new controller that broke. I hate that Rain Bird has apparently decided to manufacture an inferior product with cheaper parts.
