Injury Claims Resulting from Rollover Accidents

Rollover accidents present a serious risk to Sport Utility Vehicle Drivers. Despite public concern and desire for SUV designers to address these issues, SUVs are still delivered with the same number of rollover accident risks as when they were first released. There has been little done by the manufacturers and designers to address rollover accident risks. Thus, many rollover accidents end up in the court room as personal injury claims.

Personal injury claims resulting from rollover accidents are being awarded high awards as the car companies portray the attitude that they only deliver what the government demands and the SUV owners want. They have made little effort to produce Sport Utility Vehicles that are safer and prevent rollover accidents. Designing SUVs that are lower to the ground with a wider wheel base would address this concern by at least 35% if not higher, some experts estimate the result would be closer to 55%.

Personal injury claims resulting from rollover accidents are a simple function of a design flaw that the SUV companies already admit are present and are not important enough to address, although the statistics of rollover accidents and the dangers which SUV rollover presents obviously negate that. Thus, filing a personal injury claim in the wake of a rollover accident is perfectly reasonable. There is no other way to hold the car designers and manufacturers responsible for their negligent actions.

The filing of personal injury claims after an SUV rollover accident has resulted in millions of dollars worth of awards and settlements. Unfortunately, this has yet to result in an overhaul of the Sport Utility Vehicle industry. While some manufacturers of SUVs have made some efforts to create safer vehicles and reduce the risk of rollover, the majority of SUV manufacturers have rebutted the personal injury claims with nonchalance. Rollover accidents have increased the death rate of single vehicle accidents by a massive 34%. Rollover accidents carry a 53% risk of death in a single vehicle accident.

SUV rollover accidents are accounting for a high percentage of personal injury claims, and the number of personal injury claims resulting from rollover accidents is still on the rise. Unfortunately many personal injury claims relating to rollover accidents turn into wrongful death claims. Injuries from rollover accidents can mean months in the hospital, surgeries, long term pain medications, and months if not years of physical therapy.

Holding the vehicle manufacturers responsible for their part in these rollover accidents is the only available method of demanding changes in the SUV industry. Personal injury claims keep the SUV companies accountable, and with the threat of financial disaster, they may realize one day that the cost of redesigning SUVs on the market is worth the savings over personal injury claims from rollover accidents. It would be nice if they realized the human cost is already too high.

If you or a loved one has been involved in a rollover accident, one of the first things you should do is file a personal injury claim to offset the costs of medical attention, lost wages, and pain and suffering. Rollover accidents are a needless and senseless risk on roadways that are already filled with threatening hazards. Filing a personal injury claim in the event of a rollover accident is like signing your name to the petition, begging these Sport Utility Vehicle manufacturers to create safer Sport Utility Vehicles, or focus on the production of safer small cars, phasing out production of the SUV.

Personal injury claims take time, and they certainly are a far cry from easy money. Rollover accidents are by no means "easy" to deal with, especially when the event of serious injury from rollover accidents is very high. Very few rollover accidents are accidents that people walk away from without a scratch.

Complication from a rollover accident can be far reaching. Not only do injuries take a long time to heal, and the wages that are lost can be financially devastating, the emotional trauma can be very difficult to deal with. Near death experiences, which is what most rollover accidents are, can affect a person's ability to feel safe in the world, to function normally in the world, and to live to a full potential for months after a rollover accident. These are very serious consequences of a rollover accident, and should be taken into consideration when filing a personal injury claim. After a rollover accident, a personal injury claim may seem like too big of an ordeal while dealing with the related health issues that follow. Those who do file personal injury claims after a rollover accident often feel vindicated in the end.

The information may be a legal opinion in the form of a brief, a testimony that has not been solicited by any of the parties, or a learned treatise on a matter that bears on the case.
