Another reason singles are having a hard time finding matches on these sites, is because these sites do not have stiff enough penalties to keep out people who are already married, and are looking for affairs! Too many of these people searching for people on matchmaking web sites are already married, and shouldn’t be there. Indeed some of these websites even seem to encourage infidelity to boost their business. This detracts from the singles available for a searcher to make an honest match with. You will find that most of the people who are looking for affairs are also the ones who post inaccurate profiles and photos, because they are not genuinely looking for love, they just want to score, and it doesn’t matter when their “victim” sees the truth. If these websites made more of an effort to impose penalties to keep away people who are currently married, or people who fake their profiles and photos, it might happen less, and be a more productive way for people to find matches. One way they could do this is make a point system, have member earn points, or lose points based on their actions. For example, a woman arranges to have a date with a man she met at a certain matchmaking website, she meets him in person, and is severely disappointed by his looks, and disposition based, on what he told her about himself. She can then go and report him to the website, they detract points. Maybe once a member looses so many points they can be banned for life? A matchmaker could also be a viable way to meet other singles, but it would be hard today for a matchmaker to know about each individual the way they did in the old days. Then it was usually a matchmaker who lived in the village, and the people he/she found matches for were people he/she knew from the time they were born. So it might be a better way to meet singles, but it would be tricky to get to know someone good enough, to know what kind of match would be best for them. I personally believe that the major problem with dating websites is the people who are married and want affairs. These people drag down the integrity of the whole website, and what they are doing is wrong in the first place. If they want to go out and date again they should end the relationship they are in, and THEN date. Not to mention what are relationships worth anymore if people are not serious about wanting one?
