Visionary Leadership

Visionary leadership is the base of building a new dawn. It involves working with insight, imagination and bold moves. Visionaries present themselves with a challenge for bringing out the best in individuals and form a unique sense of purposefulness. Such leaders have their eyes always focused on the horizon and not only on the task at hand. They are innovators and are able to see the bigger picture and think strategically. They are proactive rather than reactive to the conditions. They focus their energies on opportunities rather than problems and act accordingly. They always advocate a win-win situation which is beneficial for everyone.

Visionary leadership calls for searching solutions which transcend the common adversarial approaches. Visionary leaders are able to see both sides of a situation and address the actual root cause of the problem for creating real breakthroughs in the work environment. They always take the initiative and stand for what they believe passionately. They are forever ready to bear the brunt on behalf of their co-workers, if it is helpful for their overall growth, as this is beneficial for all in the long run.

A visionary leader is effective in the manifestation of his/her vision, creates achievable goals and initiates actions which include the participation of the entire team. Heartfelt commitment is the base of visionary leadership. True leaders have a right balance of emotional, spiritual, physical and mental dimensions.

Some of the aspects of visionary leadership are listed below.

Commitment to Spiritual values

Visionary leaders are always committed to their core spiritual values. They always radiate energy, sense of will and vitality. They embody a sense of integrity. They are aware of the fact that self awareness is very important if they have to handle others. This is why they always lead from inside out, as they know that for bringing about a change in the environment, they have to start from themselves.

Inspirational and clear vision

Visionary leaders have a clear and inspirational vision of the future. In addition to this, they have a defined vision of reaching this goal. They not only project the vision, but embody it themselves. They use proper communication modules for effectively bringing their vision to reality. Their visionary powers are accompanied with the power of seeing things behind the scenes and chalk out game plans accordingly. Their visions often become benchmarks and guideposts for the betterment of existing conditions.

Respectful relationships

Visionary leaders are very good at maintaining amicable relationships. They consider their relationships as their assets and act accordingly. Instead of pushing people to perform tasks and dominating them, visionary leaders form a receptive environment which is helpful for bringing out the best in people. They try and put themselves in the shoes of other people and fine tune the communications accordingly. This behavior is then inculcated in the entire environment and thus is helpful in the overall scheme of things. The respect shown by the visionaries towards people helps in developing a healthy team spirit which enhances the output from the work.
