This is a free link building technique. You research on the internet and find sites with contents complimenting the contents on your site and then you inquire about trading links with the webmasters of these sites. The disadvantages of this method is that the rate of success is pretty low.The advantage is that it is completely free and can provide a chance for cooperate and interesting interactions with someone with the same interests as yours.
Trading links can be somewhat tough as no one is interested in linking to a competitor. For example if you are starting a gardening blog, it would be tough linking to a gardening blog because of fear for competition.
There are concerns about honesty in link trading as someone will agree to trade liking only to never put the reciprocal trade link.
In some circumstances, however, a link trade can be a good decision. If you find a site that seems like a natural companion to your blog, it is worth floating an offer.
Free links for your blog traffic
Some site will accept and list links without any obligation. Such sites are a great way of link building to increase your blog traffic. This strategy is just like the link exchange noted above. However this strategy is more reliable and is automated. Nonetheless, one must be aware of the possibility of getting a raw deal.
Search engines penalize sites which reciprocate to a bad neighborhood and thus you should be careful which sites you reciprocate to. You should stick to site that are related to your own and that are of high quality. Do a Google search involving your keyword for sites to add a link.
Tips for Good Backlinks
Track your links - Ensure that those who are supposed to be offering links to your site are doing so.
Use anchor text. A link to http://www.brooger.com is fine but this is not quite good when it comes to search engines. A text string such as Read Good Topics that serves as a hyperlink to your site is much better. This is called an anchor text and it can produce better results than just a URL link.
