The Joy of Being

I am about the creating of art forms that are inspired by a mother's lifetime journey. Striving for a higher level of spirituality and enlightenment, my works will attempt to convey love & joy for life, an awakening & a celebration of the beauty of nature, love of family & changes, accepting the inevitable loss of loved ones, always being mindful of God's presence, & Love.

"THE JOY OF BEING"....[AT ONE TIME A #1 SPOT ON GOOGLE SEARCH!], IS A FRESH NEW APPROACH ON HOW THIS POEM, BY PATTY EDSTROM, IS BEING PRESENTED THROUGH A VIDEO FORMAT WITH AN ORIGINAL 12- STRING GUITAR COMPOSITION ENTITLED "THE REPOSESSION" WHICH IS PERFORMED BY HER SON, DANIEL EDSTROM. THIS UNIQUE, DIGITAL, COLOR VIDEO, WILL DISPLAY HER LITERARY WORK WITH A SPECIAL, ANIMATED TEXT THAT IS BACKED WITH A HIGH QUALITY, DIGITALLY MIXED MASTER FILE[WINDOWS MEDIA AUDIO/VIDEO FILE @ 7.81 MB] FROM THE STATE OF THE ART STUDIO AT SUPREME INTELLIGENCES MEDIA

                      Version     2

Sweet breezes carry honey suckle from an old barbbed wire fence

Soothing sounds fill the air from the frequenting song birds

A butterfly clings to a rock

Flaunting and flirting while drying its wings.

Savoring the morning light

Colored in yellow and edged in black.

It briefly explores the sequestered nooks

Quietly and softly it flutters away.

Dazzling evereything in its path.

It knows no past

It knows no future.

Only the now and the joy of being!

          Version     1

Sweet breezes blow from the perfume of honey suckle growing along an old barbbed wire fence. Familiar, soothing sounds of music fill the air from the song birds that frequent the mountains here. A butterfly clings to a rock. Drying its wings...savoring the morning sunlight...flaunting and flirting with the rock. Quietly and softly it takes off into flight. Colored in yellow and edged in black, it briefly touches and explores each sequestered nook, dazzling evereything in its path. It knows no past, it knows no future....only the now and the joy of being.

My Mother

By: Herpha Jane Obod | 05/11/2009
Many times we look for love. We sacrifice; we triumph; we conquer; we beg; we strive; we hope; we do everything just for love. But sometimes in our quest for love, we tend to forget there is someone who loved us, keeps loving us, and will always love us.

Ballad in the Night

By: Herpha Jane Obod | 05/11/2009
Distance could never separate two hearts that beat as one. True love grows not only in the presence of two people who deeply loved each other. Even in the absence of a person dearly loved, the heart can find its way to heaven, reach the stars, and command the wind to reunite two hearts. For a heart that truly loves knows no distance, space, or time. It only knows how to love.

The Writing of Good Omens

By: Alison Davidson | 04/11/2009
This article isn't quite a review of the novel "Good Omens" by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, it's mostly a biography of how the book was written. I discuss the backgrounds of each author, the novel's early and recent reception, and the logistics of co-writing a work of fiction.
