Nowadays technology has become an integral part of any business. The rapid advancement of technology has benefitted the business concerns on one hand, and at the same time exposed them to various insecurities. The increased vulnerabilities and high percentage of risk factors have led the business organizations to adopt executive bodies. Executive management stands at the forefront providing the necessary protection.
Earlier most of the business concerns used to employ a centralized computing system. Shifting from centralized to distributed computing environments in recent times, the companies have become susceptible towards data loss, privacy violations, financial loses and various other risks related to security matters at large. Information security has therefore become a major priority for the business households. Under such circumstances the induction of highly efficient executive management body has become indispensable.
Business organizations are intensively focusing on security factors. To enforce discipline and to implement secured infrastructures companies are calling upon executive management. The management body not only has to establish security infrastructures within the organizations, but also recommend, implement and develop adequate measures to keep securities unhindered.
Executive management is primarily the role of the chief security officers of any business enterprise. Combining the role of the chief security officers with anyone else might lead to disagreement leaving the security matters unresolved. Therefore for any business concern it is immensely important to decide who should be responsible for handling security, because only an expert and skilled management body can assure security of an entire business organization.
Having assigned the responsibility to the suitable person for enforcing securities, implanting the concept of security within the entire organization is the next important thing .In order to implement maximum effectiveness, all the components of the security should be integrated within the organization. Executive management should therefore come up with policies and procedures conveying the flow of responsibilities.
Depending upon the acceptances, the policies and procedures are documented. Again it is the responsibility of the executive management body to carry out the policies. Spreading awareness throughout the organization and promoting effective security measures marks the role of a good executive management.
In order to provide strong security, executive management body should consider delivering security awareness training. Often lack of attention and mistakes are leading causes behind security breaches. To minimize or rather eliminate errors executive management body should monitor the policies and procedures thereby identifying the reasons behind such mistakes.
Security being the most vital factor, even the non technical organizations is implementing security measures. It is the responsibility of the executive management to initiate and develop security measures. Therefore executive management can facilitate an effective secured infrastructure.
