One of the most popular forms of content is the article. They are easy to optimize. Free content articles can be found free on the net. Out of date articles, can be rewritten, by changing a few lines so search engines see them as 'new' content. An article can pre-sell a product, educate the public, and be used as the foundation for creating a community.
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF ARTICLE CONTENT
The types of content are defined by how wide spread the information is, how often it has been published on the internet, and the purpose.
Relevant Content Articles
These are the premier articles. Their information is new, cutting edge. Or, it tells people how to get started, how to do something, as opposed to just outlining what needs to be done. The premier article teaches people to do something, solves problems, and how to take their careers or businesses to the next stage.
Evergreen Content Articles
These articles are not designed to teach or solve problems. They rehash common knowledge information. Their purpose is to be entertaining. This information is found in blogs, or in free content sites. These articles are used for link building campaigns and affiliate blogs.
THERE ARE SEVERAL TYPES OF ARTICLES
An article type is determined by the way they were constructed and their general purpose. No one will pay a freelance writer $8 - 20 for an article that is destine for an affiliate marketing blog. Few business owners will write cutting edge articles and then place them on free content sites to build inbound links.
Articles: 'Writer's Assist' Article Writing Software
Articles offer the best SEO opportunities. The sub titles can be turned into heading titles. Each heading title is seen as a page break by a search engine. That means that a 1000 word article, with 5 sub titles, and a main title, is seen as six articles/pages by search engines.
Writing your own articles gives the business owner complete control over the pre-selling aspects of their website. They can control the audience demographic who visits their site, which can increase the number of sales.
Writing an article can be an arduous task. However, there are software programs that 'harvest' sentences and ideas from other articles. These sentences can be rewritten, and re-organized on your article. This can make it easy to write as many as five articles an hour.
Articles: Free Content
Free content articles are easy to access and can build a website quickly. However, there are some draw backs. The #1 drawback is that most free content sites force the publisher to post a link for each and every article.
These articles have very little 'pre selling' value. Their content is often out dated or 'evergreen.' Free content is great for visitors, but they rarely improve a website's PR rating, or increases traffic.
Articles: Freelance Writers
Hiring freelance writers has several advantages, if done right. Professional writers can pre-sell, increase hits, and stay on target. However, it may take a few tries before finding a professional writer.
Articles: 'Black Hat' Article Writing Software
There is a big difference between buying a software package that helps writers write articles faster, and a software package that writes the articles for you. The first problem is that search engines hate sites that post hundreds of pages of artificially created articles. This is 'black hat SEO' at its finest, and using this software will result in a site being banned.
Visitors hate these articles because they are often incoherent, and use a grade 2 grammar style.
Articles: Cross Posting
Cross posting articles is a great idea. Search engines do not ban or penalize websites for using duplicate content. In reality, they only count the content on the site with the highest PR rating. That means that you can use your articles on more than one site.
