What Hair Drug and Alcohol Tests Can Tell You About Your Employees

<a title="Learn More About Alcohol Hair Testing and How it Can Help Your Business by looking to Trimega" Href=http://www.trimegalabs.co.uk/resources/alcohol-hair-testing.php>Alcohol hair testing</a>is becoming the leading way in which employers are testing new hires for their habits away from work. It’s important to be able to tell what kind of private lives your employees lead because of the effect it can have on their job. While this is good for alcohol testing, there are also <a title="Learn More About Drug Follicle Hair Testing and How it Can Help You with Your Employess by looking to Trimega" Href=http://www.trimegalabs.co.uk/resources/drug-follicle-hair-testing.php>drug follicle hair testing</a>that can be done fore any type of drugs the employee may be taking.

Tests with the hair are more effective than urine because of how long the alcohol and drugs stay in the hair and it’s harder to circumvent. Drugs and alcohol and urine can be flushed out in a matter of days, but in the hair it can be stored for up to a year. Having this much information about your employees habits will give you more than enough confirmation that their lifestyles are not harmful to their work ethic. We all want employees who are responsible and well managed, and what better way to test them with these hair alcohol and drug tests.

With urinary tests, there are ways that you can fake the tests that you cannot apply to a hair alcohol test.  A lot of what people like to do is drink a lot of water so the drugs will flush from their system faster. Or even bring another person’s urine to the testing and use that for the test. This trickery is a lot harder to do when administering a hair alcohol test. Unless employees vigorously wash their hair with an equivalent to bleach, or cut off the hair altogether, there’s really no way to beat these tests. If you announce a hair screening and your all of your workers show up with shaved heads, you might have a problem.

Many people associate the practice of these tests as paranoia. Their purpose is to give you an adequate look into your employee’s habits so you know if what they do will affect their work. It isn’t paranoid to note the tendencies of people because if their addicts, then that will definitely carry over to their work. If your employees are giving you push back for these tests than you know they have something to hide and even more reason to push these tests. You may even be able to help them if you find out what is going on from these tests. Don’t be afraid and don’t worry if the dislike from your employees rises because these tests. Explain to them the importance of the tests and why you need to know and they will respect your for it, and you will see an increase and activity.
