Article Marketing: Internet Marketing the Simple Way

A lot of small business owners, as soon as they start to make a little money, begin thinking to themselves, "Now is the time to make my move!" Soon, these short-sighted individuals are pulling out all the stops, spending virtually all of their income on expensive marketing practices resembling the techniques used by the largest corporations. Often, sales even pick up for a short period of time -- but this high rarely lasts.

More often than not, as I've seen in my extensive research and interviews with entrepreneurs, when a small business owner tries to dramatically "make a move" in the marketing world, the results are disastrous. Essentially, if your company isn't regularly bringing in millions in profit, then the high-profile marketing practices of the big corporations aren't for you. For small businesses, flashy and expensive marketing campaigns, in most cases, ultimately turn out to be ineffective, unsustainable, and often devastating.

In short, if you're looking for Internet marketing advice, the best thing a small business owner can do to increase Web traffic is to locate and sign up for an article marketing service. Article marketing is the most inexpensive and easiest way to market your business on the Internet.

But, what exactly is article marketing? Basically, it's a legitimate and effective way to market online without having to spend a ton of money. Shortly after Google's rise to power, many small business owners began to notice that their web sites were being swamped in the search results, often appearing several pages below the large web sites and corporation.

Many consider this to be unfair, but Google's reasons for operating this way are actually quite sound. After all, the search engine's main goal is to lead users to solid and reliable content and services, and, although it may pain us to admit it, what is more consistently reliable than large, billion dollar companies? Let's face it, small businesses come and go. Only the most well-run and intelligent businesses make it past the early stages, and Google's search results reflect this. Obviously, they don't want their search results to be full of defunct small business Web sites.

Article marketing is a multifaceted process that will help prevent your business from going under like so many others do every day. Essentially, you will become part of the Internet's vast network of content-generating individuals. Using your knowledge and expertise in your field, you'll write 600-700 word articles, which your article marketing service will help you to revise and polish to web publishers' standards.

Your article marketing service will also have you write an "About the Author" box, which is where the real marketing happens. If you succeed in piquing the interest of potential customers with solid, well-written content, they will inevitably want to know more about you and what you do. In your "About the Author" box, they'll find a link to your business's Web site.

If your articles are high-quality and distributed well, you will soon be seeing waves of new customers. And the best part is this: Google bases its search results upon the number of unique links there are to a site. By having your articles distributed throughout, you will not only win over new customers, but you will also move higher in search engine results, which will lead to even more customers.

In other words, once you begin the article marketing process, you'd best be ready to handle a large increase in customers. It doesn't always happen quickly, but with persistence, practically anyone can succeed with article marketing.

But before any of that can happen, you must start writing. Of course, there are certain guidelines and many tips that you should read before setting out to write your articles -- especially if you are not an experience writer -- but that's what article marketing services are for. Many of these services not only provide article polishing and distribution, but they also have extensive information about how best to write your articles.

So, before you start spending all of your profits on marketing techniques that tend to drain the resources of small businesses, consider this far easier and cheaper way to market your business.
