Build a web presence of some type, and people will visit when you send them there. With web building costs ranging from free to inexpensive to sky high, it may be difficult to choose how best to proceed to establish and grow a presence. So here are some helpful tips.
No Cost Website Building
Many places abound today for you to pitch a cyber-sign, a very active one, too. Use to be you choose a free hosting site, placed your web page there and then suffered huge flashing banners, pop ups and other annoying ads with no control over the content showing. Some of this still applies today, but thankfully to a much lesser extent.
You can go to any of these places to build. Register and then use the sites' building tools, adding money-making generators like Amazon affiliate code, Adsense and more:

Many times hosting services allow you to build for free if you purchase a domain there, like with GoDaddy.com. The sites, blogs or other web pages will bear ads, though, unless you pay for their removal by upgrading to paid hosting services at various levels. But they are still fine for beginning pages.
Also use these for testing sites and to build up a presence with social networking. Keep in mind your content could be removed, closed down, banned or otherwise not showing for any number of reasons, since the hosting bears no costs. So backup / save your content to re-use if you need to, so your articles, sales letters and other content do not go to waste.
Intermediate & Advanced Web Building Skills
Pick up a book at the public library on HTML website code and learn to build webpages on your own. Or learn from online articles and courses. You can also find inexpensive interactive courses at Virtual University (VU.org) for roughly $15 for a total of up to three courses.
Then choose a hosting company like HostGator.com or GoDaddy.com. These larger companies offer plenty of help via phone, online chats or email.
Think about using templates, too. Over 6 million listings appear for the term, "website templates" in Google. So there are plenty to choose from in all budget ranges. Popular places to go are:
