Chat to Text

While I probably stay more connected than a lot of people, I can honestly say that I meet people that probably text, tweet, talk and blog in their sleep. While I have not gone to those lengths I must say there are times that I feel a bit of anxiety if I have not been on my computer for a bit longer than normal.

Enter the next phase in staying connected via the world of Social Media and your cell phone. If you are one of those individuals that simply has to stay connected, wants to be available at a moments notice and makes the cell phone company rethink their unlimited texting program, you don't want to miss this.

Chat to Text is the latest program to come out allowing you to receive text messages directly on your cell phone from Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, and your own personal website to name a few. In a very short period of time there will not be a Social Media site that Chat to Text has not tied into allowing you to receive text messages directly on your cell phone. The basic idea is that you can place a text box on your Facebook, Myspace, LinkedIn or Bebo page that allows your friends to send and receive chat messages from your profile (or your own website) to your cell phone as text.

For those of you that are immediately thinking that "I don't want my cell number on the web", no worries. The creators of the application have created the application such that a user simply needs to click on your link and they are then able to type in a Chat message that in turn shows up as a text message. Way too cool, right. Think about all of those parents that can't carry on a conversation with their children because they are too busy sending text messages to their BFF.

If there is a downside to this whole setup it is that while Chat to Text is a fun little application there is a monthly service that goes along with the application. Now for the upside to all of this Chat to Texting is that while there is a monthly subscription of $5.99, you can earn a commission on anyone that joins Chat to Text as a result of your referral.

My guess is that there are not to many teens and young adults that would not be able to turn a handfull of their friends on to this little application and have the monthly fee covered by their commissions. As a general rule I will say there are millions of Teens and young adults that would LOVE to be able to get text messages on their cell phone sent by someone who is currently looking at their page on MySpace, FaceBook, or some other social networking site. Being in immediate contact with friends who are on their web page, even when they are away from their computer is now a reality.

Now for the business side of the story. If you have a web site and want potential customers to be able to send you a text instantly from your web site, this may be something you will want to use yourself. While there are some very neat applications that will let potential customers chat with you while on your website that only works when you are at your computer. Now imagine for just $6 per month potential customers can contact you at anytime. For those of you that are savvy business professionals, network marketers, networkers in general I am certain that you probably have enough contacts that you will be able to generate the commissions to cover the cost of your monthly subscription and then some.

Chat to Text has taken a huge step in advancing today's communication while making the world a little smaller. As mentioned above it is ready to implement on the 3 major social networking sites and working on more. For the time being this service is only available in the USA and Canada but they are testing / working with the phone carriers in Australia and the UK to broaden it's market.
