Direct Response TV AKA Infomercials

Few people know what a direct response ad campaign is but most everyone knows exactly what an infomercial is! Interestingly enough, they are mostly the same thing! Most everyone has seen an infomercial before and most people can remember specific products that were advertised based on how popular they were. Many people enjoy watching infomercials because it's a great way to learn about a new product, how it works, and then be able to buy it immediately from the comfort of your own home. Direct response TV commercials are all about showing a product off and then letting the consumers have a chance to buy it during the programming!

Direct response TV is sometimes referred to as DRTV for short. It refers to the type of commercial that includes contact information for the advertiser so consumers can make the purchase online or via an 800 number. Once a consumer sees an infomercial and decides to buy the product it is as easy as picking up the phone or computer to do so. There is no need to go out to a store to try and buy the product.

Television advertising is expensive, but direct response TV airtime is more affordable. It also helps bring in customers immediately and create leads, which is an important aspect of direct response TV.

Another benefit is that direct response TV is very effective. Regardless of whether the commercial is short form or long form, there is enough time for the product to be demonstrated. Presenters on infomercials are excellent at making a product look incredible and shows viewers why the product can make their lives easier. Since the infomercial has their phone number and/or web address conveniently displayed on the screen it is easy for viewers to make their purchase immediately.

Direct response TV has been a popular advertising medium since the 1980s and it will continue being popular as long as it is an effective way to bring in business. For now, direct response TV infomercials are affordable and an effective way to get a product to market.
