Forum marketing is a way to learn how to improve your business as well as to get traffic to your websites and blogs. It is easy to do and it does not cost anything. All it takes is a little work on your part to be a part of the discussions going on as they relate to the theme of your business.
Forum marketing is where you get to market your business in discussion groups. You join a forum and begin to add to the discussions by making a post. You are not allowed to promote your business or products in the posts themselves as this is considered spamming.
When you register to become a member of a forum you can set up a signature file. This sig file is where you can hyperlink a keyword phrase back to your website which when it is clicked on can bring you traffic to your site.
Here are 5 benefits of forum marketing.
1. You will get free advertising from your sig file. As people read your posts they see your sig file and click on one of your links which leads them to your website. This kind of traffic is very passive and can be a great source of sales from your visitors.
2. You learn a lot for free. When I started out with my own website I was to intimidated to make a post, so I just read what other people were posting. I hung out in internet marketing forums and really learned a lot that helped my business grow.
3. When you post you are helping another person. This is a great feeling to help another person. If you believe in the law of give and you shall receive then online forum marketing is for you.
4. Search engines give you credit for a backlink when you hyperlink your keyword phrase back to your website. For example if you have a website about babies hyperlink the phrase baby information and you will get a backlink for that keyword phrase.
You should post in different forums several times a week. You can Google search forums, or online discussion groups for any topic and find a few that will be relevant for your type of business.
5. One other thing that has been a benefit is you can get ideas for articles to write in your blog by reading the questions people are asking. A topic that is generating a lot of discussion can make a great article.
This is 5 good reasons why you should do forum marketing. If you make it part of your daily marketing efforts you will benefit in all of these different ways.
