Little Giant Ladders and You

Have you ever heard of Little Giant ladders? They are the most useful, most well thought out ladder system in the history of ladders.

Ladders are not very exciting. They are simply a device to let someone reach higher areas. What could be so mundane? Well Little Giant of Springville, Utah has put excitement into ladders with their "swiss army knife" of ladders. The story goes that founder Hal Wing took a trip to Germany and noticed a fantastic ladder. He obtained the US rights to the ladder and starting producing it. Soon his company grew quite large for the area.

Recently he started doing infomercials with Richard Karn & Robin Hartl the hosts of a popular TV "how to" program for fixing houses. Sales took off even more than before, but something else happened too.

The patent for the joint that allows Little Giant ladders to fold expired. Soon cheap Chinese knockoffs were being advertised. These imitations of the real thing cost about half of the cost of a Little Giant. People who longed for a Little Giant turned to these cheaper models to satisfy their want. Unforunately the knock offs are not as good, not as sturdy, but somewhat similar to a genune Little Giant. Do they do the same job? Perhaps.

Little Giants are still selling like hotcakes and Hal Wing has his hands full trying to keep up with the demand. Recently he has expanded his production facilities and is hiring more people to keep up.

The point is that there are two types of people who you serve. Those who want quality over price, and those who want price over quality. You know that your product is superior, but how many times have you heard "that's just way too much, I can get xxx brand for a lot less".

True, they can find cheaper products. Soap is soap, is it not? If so then why does one bar of soap sell for $1.23 and another of the same size sell for $30 ? Quality is not cheap and the two rarely go together. Some would have you believe that the price element in any MLM company is to pay downline. That might be true in a lot of cases, but mostly it's because these companies don't put out junk.

Some products are just too well produced for the traditional marketplace. Put a $49 bottle of something next to a $3.99 bottle in a store and see what happens. It won't sell. That is the very reason that companies turn to network marketing to sell these types of goods. There is a story to be told, and with the story comes the sale and customer satisfaction. A personal contact with the customer to explain the finer points of the product educates the customer as to the superior quality of the product and how it benefits him or her. That's something a product sitting on the shelf can't do.
