Possessing master resell rights for a product can enable one to earn substantial profits, without having to be involved with the manufacturing. This is quite similar to affiliate marketing, even as there are some vital differences. The sale of products in such a manner can often bring greater gains than the commissions that one might expect to earn through affiliate marketing.

While, in the case of affiliate products, one is only responsible for promotion, in order to effect sales for master resell rights products, one also has to deliver the product and collect the money, besides providing support to customers, even as this does not usually cover the technical aspects. A web page has also to be provided for the sale of master resell rights products.

There are several factors that could lead to success with the sale of such products and one can always attempt to enhance one's chances by keeping such factors in mind. There can, obviously, be no sure-fire route to attain that, however, as is the case in any other business.

It is certain that the business would fail, of course, if the one who has the master resell rights does little to promote or sell it, as would happen in the case of other businesses too. This may be described as the fastest route towards failure.

With that out of the way, ways and means of ensuring success can now be discussed. The significant ones are as follows:

1. The niche should be explored.

The rights should be purchased only after carefully evaluating the niche that the products are supposed to be catering to. It is quite possible that it might not be very profitable. It might not be a good idea to purchase the rights for a product that is meant for a niche about which one has insufficient information.

2. It is imperative to determine whether the product has sufficient demand in the market in the niche that it is targeted at.

Even if the other products being sold in a niche are profitable, it is important to find out whether the product for which the rights are meant to be acquired is also selling well, or is likely to sell well in that market. Exploring the discussion forums related to the product and the market segment should prove very useful in this regard.

3. The market should be tested.

If it were to be found that it is difficult to obtain the requisite information from the relevant forums for online discussion, tests would have to be run. Carrying out online surveys should help to accomplish this. Free gifts might have to be offered to the respondents, in lieu of filling in the details required, in the survey.

4. An approach different from others has to be adopted.

After ascertaining that there is sufficient demand for the product in the niche, the rights can be acquired and a methodology that is distinct from the competition has to be applied. A sales page that is as unique as possible and, if possible, a distinctive e-cover should be used for the purpose.

5. The package should be spiced up.

Profits can be increased to a considerable extent through increase in sales, by providing customers with bonuses that are not being offered by others reselling the products. The value-additions, although these can lead to substantial gains, can be made only if allowed, however.

6. The backend should not be ignored.

One should always be on the lookout for master resell rights products, apart from the ones for which rights have been acquired already, that are selling well or are likely to sell well in the future. An opt-in list should also be compiled and maintained. Products that are being sold by multiple resellers are often not as much in demand or as profitable, over an extended period of time in the future.

7. The rules should be followed.

It is important to read the master resell rights agreement carefully, in order to be very clear about all that is allowed and all that is not, before the rights are acquired for a particular product. The details of the materials to be utilized for marketing that the package is likely to include, and the permissions regarding the degree to which these can be edited should also be ascertained and the relevant rules adhered to.
